Just for shits and giggles mainly, and because of the group of people that think it's gonna bring back the "fun shooters". Actually I will likely be one of the people getting (renting) the game but the bullshit hype machine has little effect in this example because I know the game is going to be a ho-hum average game, Killzone 3 all over again.

That's the point of Duke Nukem, though. He's walking cliché... I think Killzone 3 was trying to be serious.

I seriously think this is the best thing that's happened in a long time. Duke Nukem Forever has been a joke for so long, when Gearbox decided to release it that joke went down the drain, now it does at least get one last breath of life. I feel like I have to buy the game despite not being a fan though. It's kinda like a collectible.

...Of course it's coming out. There's a real developer this time. As such, thinking that it won't be released based on it's history is an application of the Gamblers Fallacy. Delays are normal, and they generally lead to a better final product. We shouldn't worry about a few weeks. I have to say that Gearbox couldn't have handled this better. Sincere apology, a little self deprecating humor, and the line, "Duke never comes early" is going to have me laughing all day. The way Gearbox handled this ensure that I will get the game.
