Gears of War 3 Gets Release Date and Trailer

I am actually kind of looking forward to this, it looks like the definitive end to the series, one way or another. Like the Locust and Humans are now at the final desperate push on either side, let's face it.... it looks pretty grim.
And awesome, nothing says fun like the gritty and dark doom of two desperate armies both unable to live while the other does.
Could be kinda cool.
Plus hopefully the addition of female Gears will end that whole machismo thing that everyone associates when they think of this series.

That's an interesting point; however surely not fully understanding how this universe now works is part of the appeal of the game? I've not played Killzone 2 so I don't know how they present that game, but in the Gears universe it appears the reasons they are able to make the games so interesting and diverse is by not clarifying anything - so they can have temples in the middle of cities (Gears 1) or a large snow covered mountain (Gears 2) - the very fact nothing is clearly defined allows the games to be as interesting as they are.Hazy said:

Damn man. If I were to ever buy a 360, I would buy one just to play this game. I love the Gears of War series and Gears 2 still ranks in the top ten of my all time favorite video games (it's sitting around the #6 spot at the moment). I can't wait to play this game...on someone else's console about six months after it comes out. 
It's good to see Anya getting into the fight instead of meerely acting in the support role. I also would love to see Dizzy again, he's just awesome! Also, if another Carmine shows up, how do you think they will die this time?Armored Prayer said:

I kinda figured that #3 would involve the CoG and Locusts working together against the growing threat of the Lambent. Doesn't look that way from the trailer tho, too bad. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. Never did care much for the characters themselves (especially Dom being a whiny little b!tch about his wife), but the world and over-arching conflict always appealed to me.
Looks like more of the same, which can be either good or overused bad. Either way I'll just search up the ending when this is released, the gameplay never really pleased me.
