I actually liked that part of Gears. While you're completely immersed in the mission at hand (obviously the most important ones), I never got the impression that I was one maning the whole war.Hazy said:I always found that Gears shares the fate of Killzone, in the sense that there's a really interesting universe crafting the entire thing, but you hardly ever get to see any of it. Or, rather, get to see it from an "overall scheme of things" perspective - one that I would really like to get to know more of.D_987 said:Another day one buy for me; I've always been a big fan of the Gears games - they seem to have a rather unique feel to them - the story itself is typical blockbuster action - yet they still manage to create a deep and interesting universe through art design alone; obviously later coupled within the books - that's a very impressive achievement.
I would really like to see some flashback sequences similar to the one at the start of the riftworm - only, of course, playable.
Exploring a pre-E Day planet of Sera would do wonders for crafting the crumbling ruins - so it hits you all the harder when you see it on the brink of complete annihilation.
That, I'm a sucker for the underdog. Even when completely stomping locust, you never loose the impression that your fight backwards into a pit of death.
