No, I meant the negative reaction to The Last of Us Part 1 being in response to TLoU2.

Shadow of the Colossus was in a similar boat. We got a remaster on PS3 bundled with a remaster of Ico, then 4 or 5 years later we get another much more extensive remaster on PS4 without Ico but still priced the same. I think there was even initially some grumblings from PS3 owners that it wasn't going to see a release on their system. But seeing as that game and developer hadn't pissed away its goodwill people were generally positive toward it despite a third release quite close to the first remaster.

It could also just be a case of people being tired of this practice, with the 70 dollar price tag as a flick to the nose.

Technically when using new assets beyond mere higher res textures or display resolutions for the original assets, it would be considered a remake. What type of remake depends on how much they dig into it.

I'm about to turn in for the night, but I'll watch it tomorrow to see if Sterlings take aligns with mine.

In the meantime, my two cents. I don't have the raging hard-on that some have for Silent Hill 2, but I will readily admit it is a great horror game, and the reasons why it is great horror are the reasons why Bloober is an awful match. I haven't played all of their games, but what I played was filled to the brim with predictable cliches, obvious scares and on the nose theming, all qualities Silent Hill 2 does not have. Ffs, it does not speak well of a horror game's horror that whenever something 'scary' happened, like some dumb monster appearing, I'd make a beeline towards it, because sometimes that would get the scripted sequence over with faster.
