That good or bad?The new Silent Hill game is apparently going to be written by the creator of Higurashi.

My mistake eariler; SH2 remake is coming for both PS5 AND PC, and other consoles a year later. Steam page is up as well!
Do you not know anything about Higurashi? That good or bad?
But... This is the game he came from...Also, Pyramid Head. Cuz it's not like he hasn't been overused in freaking everything to the point where him showing up in this reveal called for little more than a shrug from the audience.
That's my point; he's been bled so ridiculously dry within gaming, that eventhough he finally has a legitimate reason to show up again in a title I can't muster anything but a chagrined sigh. And I can't imagine many people getting pumped by his apearance at the end of the trailer there, seeing as he's been pimped out rigerously by Konami since that first Silent Hill movie. Dude's probably been in freaking soda commercials for all I know.But... This is the game he came from...

On one hand I agree. On the other let’s be practical; we’ll never get the Kojima/Del Toro version of Silent Hill, and I’m still concerned about how Bloober Team is handling it, but they at least have The Medium which has “very positive” reviews on Steam. The original with a twist would've been preferable but I guess the sequel was the most revered and therefore most obvious (safest) choice.I don't know exactly why the Silent Hill 2 remake screams awful to me, but it does. Maybe it's the new voice actors saying the exact same lines, maybe it's the slightly off character designs making it look like an Unreal Engine fan creation. Or it could be the way too slick yet still bland graphical presentation, and the wonky facial animations. Or that nothing in this trailer looks scary, creepy, or at all eerie. Probably all of the above along with the Konami name attached to it.
Who knows, maybe I'm being too harsh on it, but I think it's a safe bet to say this is going to end up extremely mediocre at best.

Yeah, the hate for Bloober seems extremely disproportionate to any possible issues they actually have. I haven't played The Medium but I watched someone play it and I saw nothing to justify the severity of the reaction from so many people either. Maybe it wasn't what a lot of people wanted but that's no reason to look for any possible fault, true or imagined, in the game they can.On one hand I agree. Speaking of, I think RE2 Remake kinda stole its thunder in a way, because it now feels like a me too thing judging by some of the developer’s comments -

I’ll reserve judgment until I actually play it, or at least hear from fans who have. If nothing else the game will get the presentation upgrade it deserves. If people wanted something different and new, there will still be the three other new games in the series.
I was sceptical of that endeavor as well, but at least they had proved with P.T. that they could bring some real genuine scares. I don't trust Konami as far as my nose reaches, and The Medium seemed to have landed with more of a thud than a bang. Plus, what I've heard about how that game handles it's more "delicate" subject matter, I'm weary to what they'll do to Silent Hill 2.On one hand I agree. Will it though? The slick presentation of modern games doesn't really mesh well with Silent Hill (or horror games in general). Resident Evil makes it work, but that's more monster fear rather than psychological, oppressive, David Lynch like fear. The PS2 graphics gave SH2 and 3 (even 4) a particular eerie and disturbing vibe that really became part of the DNA of this series, and I feel it's in large part what makes it so hard to recapture that in modern games. That and SH2 was very unassuming and matter of fact in its presentation, something modern AAA games have no real talent for anymore.I’ll reserve judgment until I actually play it, or at least hear from fans who have. This should clear some things up. It does get a bit rough in the middle portion, so be warned.Yeah, the hate for Bloober seems extremely disproportionate to any possible issues they actually have. I seen the reactions from those that are skeptical, and I don't exactly blame them. I don't trust Konami with this. They're doing actually the same thing they've been doing in the mid to late 2000s. A whole bunch of immersion diesing, and outsourcing a different Studios for different Silent Hill projects. I do wish the best for each of these teams, but I'm not exactly holding my breath. I will say that SHf is the most unique and interesting of the bunch. We still really have not seen much gameplay, other than James walking in SH2 Remake. Just because konami's green lying all these projects doesn't mean I'm instantly forgiving them. They have a lot to make up for. So much. Not to mention they still abuse their employees. I hope they don't spread that same abuse to the companies they outsource to.On one hand I agree.
