I'd say PSN not being available in some region is a much bigger deal since it might brick people out of playing a game they purchased.

More importantly, why do they care about whether or not player have a linked PSN account?
Apparently they have to use something like VPN to pretend to be in the supported region, which I am not sure if Sony has a way to detect it, or if they even care.

I mean if they want to play online on PS5, they already need to pay for the internet, the PSN subscription, the console, and the tv. And now they are forced to use VPN as well.

That fucking sucks. Everything about it sounds like:

Speaking of news that nobody wanted, Tomb Raider is going open-world. https://insider-gaming.com/new-tomb-raider-game-to-be-open-world-its-claimed/
Something tells me my older brother is still going to play it anyway.

I like tomb raider so im gonna play it and probably hate it.
Knowing him, he's gonna give it a chance. He was the bigger TR fan compared to me. I only played the PSX trilogy, the PS2 remake, and that one where's Matrix diving on a truck in an actual stage. I wasn't that big into the character or franchise. Aya Brea is my single player bae of the 90s and early 200s/

I would love them to put Parasite Eve on the PS5. It was on the vita but that store is closed.

I mean, I understand you like Tomb Raider but if it's bad, could you just not play it?
Sometime its interesting to play bad game. There's this game technically part of the front mission universe that's universally agreed to be terrible, but I actually had lots of fun playing it because it took some interesting decision in its terribleness. Of course it help that I got it for like 95% off.

Fair enough. Bad games are sometimes facinating for the fact they are bad and/or make interesting choices.

I was referring to the fact CriticalGaming said they would hate the game and buy it anyway.

I will not get it if there is no hope. Ill see what reviews say and then make a choice.

It's like Yahtzee, he doesn't like war shooters at all but continues to play them because sometimes a game like Spec Ops: The Line comes across and is a great game that is also a war shooter.

Spec Ops was a lightning in a bottle, and even then I don't find it that interesting among the brown and gray war shooters. You all know my feelings on the game at this point, so I'm not going to get redundant.

People have figured out that Sony did a sneaky change to their ToS:

So now I'm inclined to believe Helldivers 2's new policy really was enforced by Sony, and not Arrowhead.

HD2 devs also didn't really like the decision as well, and are lookling for ways to backtrack the new policy.

Fuck off Sony. Something smelled fishy. Thanks for keeping up on it.

Mind you, Spitz the Community Manager on discord didn't do a very good job at..... well, community managing.

With the refund surge on HD2, people are also throwing Steam under the bus for having random standards for who can or can't get the refund

Well some new information has come to light and it turns out that while this was warned to be coming to all players, the original ToS said it would be an optional PSN network sign in in case you wanted to earn trophies or link accounts whatever.

Sony reconned that to force their network functionality which is a dick move. They saw how popular HD2 has become and clearly want to stick their dick in it.

This is what happens when Sony is able to dominate the industry unchecked. How many times have I complained about Xbox sucking a raw hotdog? This is exactly why, when Xbox isn't competing then Sony is free to start fucking people over because there is no other platform to run off too, especially now that Sony is putting their games on PC too.

I want Xbox to get their shit together to put a stop to Sony's bullshit. Monopolies always fuck people over, we need both xbox and playstation to be great so that they keep each other in check.

The only reason Nintendo is keeping their shit together, though they fuck up too, is because they have to control their niche or the other guys will start looking their way.

And Sony keeps pouring gasoline to the fire! Steam has now delisted HD2 for around 177 countries

Now I've dedcided to do a little research, and turns out there are about 118 countries where PSN isn't available.

Did a cross reference from there, And there are 59 countries that aren't part of the 118 non-PSN countries, but are affected by HD2 delisting:
  • Anguilla
  • Åland Islands
  • Aruba
  • Bermuda
  • Saint Barthélemy
  • Bouvet Island
  • Cocos (Keeling) Islands
  • Cook Islands
  • Curaçao
  • Christmas Island
  • Falkland Islands (Malvinas)
  • Faroe Islands
  • Unknown country code: FX
  • French Guiana
  • Guernsey
  • Gibraltar
  • Greenland
  • Guam
  • Isle of Man
  • British Indian Ocean Territory
  • Jersey
  • Democratic People's Republic of Korea
  • Macao
  • Northern Mariana Islands
  • Martinique
  • New Caledonia
  • Norfolk Island
  • Niue
  • French Polynesia
  • Saint Pierre and Miquelon
  • State of Palestine
  • Réunion
  • Svalbard and Jan Mayen
  • Saint Helena/Ascension/Tristan da Cunha
  • Sint Maarten (Dutch part)
  • French Southern Territories
  • Tokelau
  • United States Minor Outlying Islands
  • Holy See
  • British Virgin Islands
  • U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Viet Nam
  • Wallis and Futuna
  • Unknown country code: XD
  • Mayotte

I wonder why these 59 were included? Or could that 118 number be wrong?

I have a PSN account, both a US and a SEA one. And yet I no longer have the ability to buy Helldivers 2 on Steam. That is... fascinating.

Genuinely sucks, a high school friend invited me to play with their squad and I was planning to get the game when expenses cleared up. Oh well. Suck a large chode Sony.
