Soooo hum... apparently ubisoft just release a new game today

What? Did they even advertise it? It sounds awful and broken, but like wtf, you just release something and don't mention it to anyone. This might dethrone the stupidity of releasing two new assassin creed game on the same day (also Ubisoft, how tf is that company still alive?!).

Well, this is going to be dead faster than hyper scrape. You're probably asking wtf is hyper scrape.

My response is "Exactly!"

Escapist review is pretty negative about it

If its an accurate representation, I can see why its getting positive review from some ("finally a game I don't have to play!") while negative from other.
I beat the game last night.

There are 5 combat encounters and they are all identical. There are no boss fights, there are two different puzzles that each repeat two or three times, and the rest of the game is holding forward. The story also doesn't have a real ending, it's just kinda over before you realize it. The game honestly feels cut off, like they planned for more or something and just had to end it.

7 years of development and there is no game here. Combat is terrible (worst than the first game) and they knew it because there is less combat than the first game and enemies only fight you in one on one battles, there are less puzzles, it just makes no sense. They went all in on graphics and didn't make a game to go around it.

Wow, so the narrative and story element, which should've been the driving force for the game, sucks?

I would be very surprised if Ninja Theory doesn't get axed by MS within the next few years

It's terrible imo, mostly because they put a focus on side characters that have no character or personality themselves. There is literally a character who looks at Senua and just goes, "Oh you're special you can lead us." two minutes after meeting her. Meanwhile she gets tossed around and flails like a weak child every single combat encounter.

Which speaking of combat, every combat is identical, including the kill and transition into new enemies animations. Even the end of combat animation is exactly the same every time.

It is really really remarkable how little there is here. Say what you want about Ubisoft, but at least their games are filled with value for the money you spend, you can argue about the quality of the content, but Ubisoft games always have shitloads of things to do. There is nothing to do in Hellblade except hold the forward button, and fight a couple of generic dudes with the same canned animations each time.

Hellblade 2 reminds me of Ryse and Order 1886, which both of those games were basically tech demos and nothing more than graphics showcases. Except both of those games were longer and had more gameplay to do in them, and they had the added bonus of being basically launch titles for the new systems. If Hellblade 2 released alongside of the Xbox X, I might be more forgiving, but even then the price point is stupid high for what you get.

A VR game where you get to decide how the plot turns out?

Sounds neat, but it's exclusive for Apple Vision Pro and I am not shelling out $3000 just so I can kill off Bucky

Next COD game teaser is here, and they are doing something different this time; A interactive website that looks like a old cable-box tv. You can flip the channels around to see two short clips. And you gotta REALLY flip them around to see both.

Judging by the clothes and the urban streets in the clips, it looks like it takes place between BO: CW and BO2? And it still seems to have the political/conspiracy espionage element. Would really be disappointed if Woods or Mason isn't in the game, and we're just playing as these hacker groups

So the classic 9/10 from reviewer but 4/10 from player.

The Vision Pro isn't even "gaming equipment". It's a toy for high-powered executives who need to show off how much money they can spend on tat.

A Sonic Battle Royale mobile game.

SEGA... seriously? This isn't even walking into the third act with a spear. This is blundering into the theater after it's been shut down and is five minutes away from demolition.

I emphasize mastering fundamentals over tools; with AI, your creativity sets the limits. Understanding art history, composition, and storytelling is essential for effective direction. Tools evolve quickly—Some tools once essential, now are obsolete. At Naughty Dog, we transitioned from hand-animating 'Jak and Daxter' to using motion capture in 'Uncharted', significantly enhancing our storytelling. AI will allow us to create nuanced dialogues and characters, expanding creative possibilities. However, it's crucial to precisely direct these tools to achieve the intended outcomes.
This shift is highlighted by our venture into television with The Last of Us, which I hoped would bridge the gap between gamers and non-gamers. The show's success has spotlighted gaming, illustrating the rich, immersive experiences it offers. This visibility excites me not only for our current project but for the broader potential of gaming to captivate a global audience. I'm eager to see how this new game resonates, especially following the success of The Last of Us, as it could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming.
I'm gonna enjoy watching how the next game turns out, and watch this turd fight off internet all over again

Calling it now: Hades 2 will be the GOTY winner.

This is "news" related because there's all sorts of positive reception to Hades 2. Now of course this was expected: Hades is beloved, SuperGiant always delivers on quality.

But what's really impressive is that even with all the high expectation it's still surprising and impressing. It seems to be both more of Hades but also different enough to be intriguing.

And unlike Hellblade 2 or FF7:rebirth or Dragon's Dogma 2 I can't imagine any pushback, any reason to crap on it. It's not going to have "no gameplay," or bullshit microtransactions or bloated wasteful content.

Personally while I liked Hades I also just can't deal with rogueli*es and would have preferred SuperGiant to move on to something else but there isn't enough of the media/critical/twitchtube gamer culture that will agree with me on this. And even that is just personal preference not a complaint or criticism. I'm still pleased for SuperGiant and Hades' fans.
