Only if they can make a combat system that doesn't suck. KCD is a great sim game, but the combat is trash.
Yeah... I was really hoping KCD2 would do a major rework of the combat, but from what I gather its more of the same. I really liked my time with KCD1, but for the first part I would hate the game every time combat would start because of how frustrating it was. And once I got it, I would hate the game because of how boring it was.

I'd wager they'd be after Unreal Engine for use in its shows and movies.
I think it's more likely they fear Fortnite will replace or at least take a big chunk out of their toys sales. Kids don't want a Spider-Man action figure, they want a Spider-Man skin and his special red and blue assault rifle.
Disney, you lost with Sora AI. Fuck off already. You got Star Wars, and still fuck it up every now and then. Getting Epic gains you nothing, and even some kids are starting to get sick of Fortnite the way those V bucks are going.
Did you unlock the master strikes? Those kinda make the combat. Before that you’re kinda bumbling and are best served with like a club or axe where you can bash enemies with no regard for technique.
Basically with those if you attack at the opposite direction of the other guy you do a parrying strike that 1shots most dudes. It’s finicky but if you get it down and get like a big greatsword you turn into a sword saint real fast.
Cool, but still I have zero interest in the game because of that combat. Which sucks because I heard the story is really good, but I found the game insufferable to playthrough.
Could be fun but one hurdle is that Middle Earth is kind of a dead world with barely anyone living in huge swats of it. You got Gondor and Rohan of course, but Rovanian, Arnor, Angmar and most dwarven realms being completely depopulated.

Hmm, I am not the leading expert in Middle Earth lore, but I know there are crap load of history and events that were not fully covered in the movies. Maybe combine the open-world design of KCD, combat mechanics of Shadow of Mordor/War, and sprinkle some po-tay-toes, we might see an awesome game.
Oh, and maybe injury mechanics as well! Achievement for breaking your toe from trying to kick something really hard
