I think this is the first generation of consoles in which buying early was the best possible move.

Like every week something happens that makes me panic buying a bunch of electronics back in november/december last year look prudent in hindsight

Sony fanboys better learn to live with only one arm and one leg, since that's what PS6 will cost them.
Add half a head to that once the next PS+ price hike kicks in.

Why would anyone even bother with PS+ at this point? It's cheaper just to either give these games used if they're available physically or just wait for a sale without having to sign up for anything. The extra sale or "free games", lost its value when they up the price the second time around. Any digital game I got on sales since 2022, has been with been without PS+, and I am all the more grateful for it.

Oh cool a deal with Satan. Well might as well do that. lol
I don't know if that's actually a good thing. That reads to me as a reason for tech bros to triple down on AI even harder.
Hmm, I think my initial excitement got the better of me, because I something like this as well:

So I guess we are gonna see shortage of CPUs next, which to my knowledge, was already more expensive than RAMs even before the whole AI trend

The CPUs they're using for AI are server grade CPUs. So Intel Xeons and AMD Epycs, CPUs with tons of cores good for data-intensive operations, which are not the kind used for consumer electronics. So tiny chance it might not be that bad, but it'll probably still will be, either because chipmakers will start focusing on manufacturing those server grade CPUs over other types to feed the AI beast, or because the AI bros start settling for workstation and consumer CPUs when supply of server CPUs can't keep up with their demand.

Tho I'm wondering why they're not going for ARM instead. Less power hungry and more cores for the kind of work they're doing. Maybe a supply thing?

also, someone discovered a very sneaky section in Sony's Playstation ToS:

Remember when sony made that hilarious "how to share your game" video at ps4 launch?

Is that even legal? I thought there was some decision in the US that you had a right to resell what you had purchased.

A lot of contract stuff aren't legal, but until they actually get looked at by a court, they can just write whatever they want in contract.

Most people aren't even going to listen to that. If sony is serious, then they're going to have a lot of evidence against them. And lots of people who ain't gonna buy anymore.

They do that, and they're gonna also have a lot of unhappy retailers in online retailers. Bad for business.
