Quick question, just so i can get things cleared up, it is okay when Europeans on this site say things like all U.S citizens are stupid, when some one does some thing stupid that does not represent the country as a whole, we U.S posters are expected to roll with the punches. Give it the old 180 and it is offensive? I will guarantee the second a news post about some U.S citizen doing something dumb is posted it will be flooded by European posters, with Amerikkka is dumb, only in America, you see America this is why we hate you and etc..Ketsuban said:Thanks, that's not offensive or condescending to anyone who isn't German or Polish at all. Also, it's spelled "wacky".Gottesstrafe said:Oh those WHACKY Europeans. What will they mix up next? It only feels like last year that they mistook Pedobear for a Canadian Winter Olympics mascot.
Actually on this forum saying terrible things about the U.S or U.S posters is fine.Ultratwinkie said:Actually no. There was a poster who wished someone got raped, and immediately been dealt with.Rationalization said:Wishing death to Americans, and saying this is why everyone hates America though. That's okay.Ultratwinkie said:This isn't 4chan, slurs are not allowed here. At all.
Because apparently the off chance of offending someone is the most serious thing in this entire world.Avernus said:Honestly, I've never figured out why that term is now supposed to be considered offensive or derogatory. German sailors originally used sauerkraut as an effective remedy against scurvy (which is where the term is believed to have come from). The English likewise used sauerkraut, but switched to using limes later on, and hence the term for them became Limeys.Ketsuban said:That's an offensive slur and I suggest you refrain from using it in future.manythings said:Ha! Silly krauts.
It's historical slang, I just can't find the offence to be taken from it. Likewise you see everyday use of 'Yanks' 'Kiwi' and others that have no fundamental insult attached to it.
In blinding contrast, calling someone of German decent 'Nazi' is extremely offensive and derogatory for obvious reasons.
See the difference?
PS. I'm a Limey Canuck. (Hell will freeze over before 'Canuck' is thought to be offensive).
PPS. Not a fan of Political Correctness; the 'Political' part of the term tells a person almost all they need to know to realise why it's not always a good thing.
President Shrub didn't actually look for bin Laden...Infact, he turned down a chance to get him at Tora Bora. He also dismantled the intelligence team looking for him and made several very public statements that he wasn't very concerned about OBL at all.Mavinchious Maximus said:Hey you don't know if this was true, it seems more realistic then a super power hunting a man for ten years and turn up no findings until now.
Something on the internet was said that you didn't like? :O Excuse me while I continue to be surprised for the rest of the day. More importantly since germany's economic goal is to turn my country into a third world nation I could give a fuck what offends them.Ketsuban said:That's an offensive slur and I suggest you refrain from using it in future.manythings said:Ha! The first is an easy typo to make if you're being absent-minded and don't read what you're writing, considering you have two major political figures with extremely similar names. The second isn't an error, because there's no one correct way to romanise the Arabic name أسامة بن لادن, and "Usama" is the romanisation used by the FBI.Polaris19 said:Fox News got it wrong about eight times. Wow, really? Seems kinda short sighted... but then again, there was that whole "Freedom Fries" business a few years back... *SIGH*Irridium said:Because "Osama" is wrong. His real name is "Usama", it was just changed in the west because its first 3 letters spelled "USA".MikailCaboose said:Almost EVERY news station got "Osama" wrong.Polaris19 said:Fox News got it wrong about eight times. This is hilarious though...
Uh... yes they are? Have you looked around? every other thread I look in has some one calling another person "fanboy" "moron" "retard". I'm Canadian and I don't go off crying in a corner when someone calls me a canuck, or America's hat. I laugh because it's funny.Ultratwinkie said:This isn't 4chan, slurs are not allowed here. At all.
