In this scenario, are we getting the money right now, as in today? If so, I'd take a chunk of it and do everything possible to make sure my dying grandfather is comfortable for however long he has left.
Give $1 million to my parents. They're fairly well-off, but a large portion of their retirement fund was shot to hell by Bernie Madoff a few years back, and they haven't fully recovered from it.
Everyone here is saying they'd build a house. I don't really want to build a house, myself. I live in the city, so that's not really a viable option, and I don't want to move somewhere else since all my friends are in the area and my family's only an hour away. What I would do though is buy an apartment in that beautiful complex a few blocks from me. Two of my friends are living there, and it's quite lovely. Maybe also buy my current building from the landlord. Three nice (albeit a bit small) apartments in a beautiful neighborhood (and literally right next door to a school) is a good investment. Maybe invest in some other real estate, make a consistent flow of income from renting things out, so I don't end up with this eventually running dry.
I'd consider a car if the public transit system around here wasn't so thorough. It is, though, so a car would be unnecessary.
Definitely take $1,000 or so and build myself a powerful new gaming rig, something that will last me several years.
Set aside a few million just in case. Good to have some emergency money in case anything happens.
After all of that is settled--once I have a place to live, a decent computer, a steady income from real estate investments, and a sizable emergency fund--use the rest to start up a game company. By which I mean both video games and board games, since I have plenty ideas for both but can't feasibly make them a reality on my own.
I know I may be coming across as a bit selfish, not giving any of this $100 mil to charity or anything, but I'm rather fond of this Roman proverb: "medice cura te ipsum," or, "Doctor, heal thyself." One should make sure they're secure themselves before they put too much effort into aiding others. Once I have a more steady, sizable income going (hopefully from the game company), then I can start with the philanthropy.

First the boring stuff. Half in the bank for passive income. A few mil to family. Buy a house, car, new pc, maid, chef cook, etc. Spoil my friends a bit by paying debts and giving out a few pcs.

After all the things to make me, my friendd, and family comfortable I would hit Kickstarter and start funding cool projects. I'd get my name and ideas in some cool games and on some cool gizmo's. Fly around the world to meet the different entrepreneurs that started the projects.

Maybe I'd start my own game studio with a few friends.

Easy, my own massive house in the middle of nowhere with a staff of people to make sure i never have to do anything i don't want to anymore! Then highly paid assassins to take out anyone i have a beef with :p

But seriously, 90% of it is going straight into the bank to grow and grow and grow! With the rest a nice place in the country, sort out my debts and friends and families debts, beyond that a nice quiet life with whatever luxuries i fancy.

Well, first of all, I'd pay off my parents' debts and get us out of the hole.
Second, I'd put aside a few thousand dollars to get me through university. I wouldn't just quit school because I'm actually interested in what I'm doing, that being computer engineering.
Third, I'd buy video games and food and stuff. Nothing too fancy; why would I waste my money on fancy stuff that I'm not interested in when I could use it for things that I AM interested in and things that would actually keep me alive?
Fourth, I might use some for electronics parts to tinker with. I've been debating building a custom pair of fully modular headphones for myself, but I don't have enough experience with hardware to be confident that I could get it on my first try.
Additionally, I'd probably keep everything remaining in the bank in order to live off of the interest while using my time to do things that I think are fun or interesting.

1 mil each to my friends and family, about 30 mil or so, if they spend it all it's their fault. With my kids 1mil each in trust funds, thats more than enough for them to have comfortable lives, the daily interest alone would be awesome.

2 mil for blowing, house, cars, a damn big party, etc. - and when I say damn big party, I mean it, this thing would be talked about in terms like the world fairs (this is me after all)...

I would set myself up in business, but just to keep me occupied rather than anything else. maybe 1 or 2 mil for that, get some people in to actually make it run, I just want a profitible workshop to play in...

10 mil set aside where I cannot touch it, 10 mil to my wife, again so I cannot touch it.

so I've got what? 40 mil left, even in the bank thats is a silly income, that'll do me.

I wouldn't give any to charity, though I probably would set up for large amounts of the interest to go to charity, and what money is there when I die does the same, it stays in the bank and the interest goes to charity, I've already been very generous with those who would want my inheritance anyway, and in the long run it's more money for the charities.

Well...

First thing that'd have to be done if I end up so lucky is to pay off pretty much every outstanding debt I can think of, and hire someone to track down the debts I might have forgotten about. From there, health insurance and life insurance policies that guarantee that everyone in the house is backed up if they need it. Follow that up with a full physical, with any treatments that might be needed.

Once that's taken care of, new house. Nothing too huge; it's just three people and a pair of Basset hounds in this house, so maybe just a 4-bedroom with a large yard so the dogs can run around. Need a decent internet connection for gaming and whatnot, so speaking with one of the more reliable companies out there about a high-end connection would be the next step.

Of course, we've gotta have a decent-sized barbecue pit for the backyard, because fuck yeah brisket.

Once all that is taken care of, then the series of investments to make sure it lasts as long as possible begins, in addition to setting aside around $3k or so for a gaming rig that'd run pretty much anything for the next ten years or so and $20k for road trips.

I never said fortress I said Summer Home.. you ever been in the jungle in summer.. it is not pleasant and while the naturallly occuring swarms of blood sucking parasites and disease carrying vermin are nice it's not where you want to take the kids on Vacay... other wise you'll have nothing but 'Daaaad Billy put barbie in the leech tank again' 'Did not booger brain'

Seriously who wants that. Island vacation doom homes are much nicer... I mean they'll be too busy playing with the laser mounted sharks to bother you and the Missus.
Very true... and I just realized the costs of keeping a jungle base summer home air-conditioned.

Hmm. I might have to hire engineers to develop a way to use rainfall to keep the costs of summer home-wide HVAC systems down. This is gonna hurt. :/

To be Frank (which I am) if it increases my chances of this happening then yes, if I win such an amount of money I pledge to host the mother of all escapist expos.

Heck I'll even buy you some magic packs if you want. Free magic booster packs for all! Guests are welcome to bring their own supply but I'd also cover the beverages. I don't even care if my new house gets utterly wrecked, I'll just hire a cleaning crew the day after ^^

Facial Feminisation Surgery is considered a separate procedure, sometimes a non-essential procedure (so it won't necessarily be covered by the "main" surgery).

Here's a video going into detail about it and the general situation in the UK

Split a quarter of it on my family, put the rest into a bank to save up until 2030 when I officially announce my candidacy for President of the USA. Then spend all of it (and whatever else I've made in that amount of time) on the campaign.

If I won the lottery I would:

-Buy a modest-sized house in the city I currently live in.
-Buy a dependable, though entirely unremarkable, car (i.e. Honda Accord).
-Pay for the rest of my Master's degree.
-Travel all around Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore for a few weeks.
-Set enough aside in savings that I would never have to worry about money if I fell on hard times.
-Set up a history, strategic studies and political science scholarship at my university.
-Donate the rest to a few history departments at universities of my choice. Starting with the university I attended for my degrees.

I would live out the rest of my life as if I wasn't a millionaire. I would find a full time job somewhere, live modestly and eventually retire on the funds I had put away in savings.

I think you look beautiful. But I get what you mean, there's a hell of a lot of benefits to going (easy) stealth. I'm education heavy, and I was thinking of taking on development psych just to sorta 'ease into' less school room and qualify for more school counselor. High school weren't easy years as a trans* teenager, they're not going to be much better as an trans* adult. Especially when discipline is an issue, and parents keep foisting more parental duties on teachers. Seriously, next time I hear why teachers are supposed to be responsible for teaching kids ethical behaviour...

Anyways, that being said, I have maybe ... about 40'000 USD I could spend. Australian public health doesn't cover a whole hell of a lot. So FFS will likely just mean a little jaw contouring, and maybe a slight eyebrow lift, and a touch of nose work. I actually quite like my high cheekbones because they work for me.

That being said, there's always those things that niggle at your psyche each time you look into a mirror. So,e things are (luckily) awesome as is ... Shoulder width, body shape, legs, etc. Some things get a whole lot better on HRT ... and then there are those things that surgery can only remedy. Though I'm a bit conflicted, as I would be happy with a F1 natural gender presentation. Mainly because I'm pretty genderfluid.

If you are deadset going for easy stealth, I honestly don't think you need all that much done. Like, literally 99% there! I'd kill to have your bone structure ... well, maybe just maim.

Set aside whatever portion of it would end up getting taxed right away. Not something I really mind, but I don't want to blow 100 mil and then get a huge tax bill.

First thing would be to pay off my student debt, my brother's debt, and my parent's loans, as well as set aside money for my niece and nephews to go to university. Calling that roughly 1 mil.

Set aside money as gifts to very specific relatives. Parents and my brother each get 2 mil. Granparents get 500k each, mostly to get them comfortably through the rest of their years. Dad's brother, his wife, and each of their kids get $500k, plus what I set aside for their schooling. That is $10 mil.

Of whatever is left, I'd invest no less than 75%. A quarter of the 'investment' money goes to safe bonds, half goes to growth bonds, the remaining quarter is set aside for venture capital or to buy into key companies, as necessary.

So lets say that taxes are 50% (just a worst-case guess), that means that after gifting and saving I'm left with 10 million. I'd spend most of that on properties. A nice main home in whatever city I end up working in (I wouldn't quit working, although I may end up in a different field than I normally would), a nice but not extravagent property somewhere out west, and a nice property somewhere coastal with good sailing. I'm rounding these three properties to 7.5 million, but that is including property tax for the forseeable future and really going worst case (I probably wouldn't spend that much on properties), that leaves me with 2.5 million, which I would mostly sit on and just use comfortably. Or I'd buy a nice boat. I'm not sure which.

Honestly? Shit myself, wash those pants and undergarments thoroughly, frame them and put them on my wall. Then take the money, put some away for my kid in a trust with a load of caveats so she doesn't spend it willy-nilly once she's of age, some for her college. Then also put myself through school for a few things I've wanted to do, build a recording studio after I finish one of my degrees. Scout some bands and produce them for free to launch their careers, then turn their rights over to them with a caveat that a percentage of record sales are put back towards keeping the studio and production company running.
Also start an indie game studio for entry level programmers to get their feet wet, and also hire some experienced programmers to pass down what they know to the newbies, fair and balanced hiring and focus on games first, not marketing or demographics.
Obviously put some money away for myself in various accounts to keep myself from being broke, own a modest house in the country away from major city hubs but not too far from civilization.
And donate to various charities that aren't scams, mostly local ones and a few worldwide.
I'm not going to aim to change the world, just do what I can to make it better here and there.

Well I'm not sure how much my 85x85 avatar picture accurately represents what I look like, but thanks! I look better on some days than others. Without makeup though I look very obviously male (I have had to learn so many tricks). Currently I am not on hormones or any kind of therapy (trying to get doctors to treat it seriously is a bit of an obstacle course, and requires the kind of persistence I don't have the energy to do). I am however fortunate for not having many "masculine" traits. These days rather than aiming for looking female I aim for a very androgynous look (because mentally I'm more androgynous than male/female anyway). I'd just personally prefer a female body, if that makes sense?

Ehhh, you get that. Some days you look in a mirror and it's like "definitely a 'fat day'", which I basically a saying I apply to anyday where I feel gloomy, depressed, and generally of exceedingly low self-esteem. Yeah, androgyne I usually try to hit as I feel most comfortable in that range. Precisely when I can't be stuff doing too many things.

Oh, I'm not sure if NHS is anything like Aussie public health, but I was getting a few hoops as well. I'm really loathe to tell you this as it's not really ethical given there are some risks associated with being on HRT without monthly bloods. The trick I learnt was buy the drugs online, just sit on them for awhile, and then tell your doctor you're using said drugs. They seemed to rubber stamp me through the process with only two psych evals and me pestering the shrink to pass on a confirmation to my sexual health specialist. Now, also, must remind you I know nothing of NHS. Whether it works or not, no clue. Just ... look I'd be a shitty person if I recommended it without actually saying anything against it (as there are a few things that are potentially harmful).

Also, it'd be a really good idea to being on HRT for maybe 1-2 years before thinking of what surgeries you may want. Mainly because you'd be surprised just how much can change, and you might find things you hate about yourself become things that actually work given the redistribution of lipids in your body. Like my high cheekbones ... strangely work with slightly fuller cheeks.

So, throwing that out there, too.

Also. if you aren't strapped for cash (depending if NHS completely/partial covers it) micronized progesterone. Anecdotally, When I self medicated I did so with micronized progesterone after a month (once again, shitty person if I didn't say that parts of this plan can potentially be dangerous). When I started using micronized progesterone I found a large increase in breast development (edit: you kinda start flatlining at 1 year and the continued benefits most likely are outweighed by other potential health complaint. I would certainly say within 2 months you really should get a doctor to start doing bloods, just to make sure).

That being said, you might want to hold off for a few months as the first 6 months are PAINFUL. Seriously, if someone strong-hugs you, or you bump into something, or you sleep too long on your stomach ... you cry-sort of painful. Everything feels like sandpaper against your nipples and you may have to fold a few pieces of aloe vera dampened tissues against them in over to avoid lactating over your favourite article of apparel.

So there's that. But that does go away ... kinda. Anyways. As I said before, whether it works or not (once again, shitty person, etc) you *may* be abl to bypass a lot of the MP/Psych bullshit.

I'll look into it. I am extremely hesitant about the whole process and it's likely I might never even do it, but if it's possible it may be worth a shot. The NHS is experiencing a lot of trouble lately (the conservatives want to scrap it/privatise it or something) and parties like UKIP are even more hostile against it. Chances are, they'd consider cosmetic/gender surgery to be of lesser importance than A&E, for example.
