I would have to give some to my parents and my sisters, then I would by a nice slice of land and build a modest size home on it, then have a huge garage to host a large collection of motorbikes and cars.

First, I'd put back enough to pay the taxes on the lottery winnings. After that...

I'd pay off my parent's house
Move back to Jefferson City
I'd buy my own house and furnish it
Get a reliable car
(Optional) Get a motorcycle
Go back to school
Get a haircut and get a real job

I'd keep what was left and use it for emergencies and such.

I'll look into it. I am extremely hesitant about the whole process and it's likely I might never even do it, but if it's possible it may be worth a shot. The NHS is experiencing a lot of trouble lately (the conservatives want to scrap it/privatise it or something) and parties like UKIP are even more hostile against it. Chances are, they'd consider cosmetic/gender surgery to be of lesser importance than A&E, for example.
Yeah, Australia is likely not too far behind in these sorts of regulation reform, sadly. Politicians haven't realised just how much taxation their missing out by helping us once. Hell, i would settle for a 0% interest loan. Government gets money back eventually. A citizen gets help sooner. General health and emotional wellbeing improves. Better able to participate in education and the workforce.

Everyone wins.

If you're one of those people that loves being able to pull off a ten hour shift, go clubbing, slam three margaritas in 10 minutes, and still wake up 9 am the next morning? Well ... yeah, never going to happen again. It's also kinda a lifestyle choice, like if you're working doubly hard for a cushy management position that you're pretty sure to get within the short-term ... yeah, not liable to happen given that you get fatigued twice as quick.

Your energy levels increase again eventually, but never 100%.

i'd invest half of it, maybe buy a Subway Restaurant franchise or invest half in something that has stock that will always do well.. a product that everyone uses.. then i'd take the other half and put it in a high interesting checking account and live off the interest.. i might buy i few little things, but i'm not greedy so i wouldn't blow it all.. don't need a big mansion or sports car or anything.. I've always been a saver not a spender so being rich probably wouldn't change to much for me..

Oh, I know exactly what I would do... [http://i.imgur.com/Vs28502.jpg]

Buy a nice house. Ensure my family lives well...

(something sensible regarding revival of the Timesplitters series)

Buy my friends nice things.

Commission artists to create what I can't. Hey, if I could buy talent, I would.

Disappear.

I don't know what else...some philanthropy, maybe? Enjoy the world as it comes. I don't imagine I'd MC Hammer it, but any means.

Now you've got me wondering how much that would realistically accomplish.

Well, assuming that you get various government subsidies because you're helping to pay money towards transgender health without them having to stick their hands in their pockets so much. Especially if you created a government managed fund that they could realistically invest and dip into to pay for extensive transgender health reform programs.

But the smarter option, I would imagine, is creating a Transgender health lobby as well as a public fund.

Alternatively you could do it Xavier-style and create your own boarding highschools for transgender children. Guaranteeing a healthier educational environment free of the intolerance and bigotry. Thus availing to the students greater avenues to university, more scholarships and thus better chances for career success.

Various countries where you set up schools would likely allow you to apply for government subsidisation because you're the one educating them and taking those costs off their books. You would also likely receive a fair bit in donations.

Now that I ponder this, I need a custom wheelchair. Or hire Patrick Stewart. Or both.

I have to admit, it might just be the cultural difference, because I couldn't imagine getting government funding in the states. I mean, you can still target someone or fire them for gender identity, so....

Hell, Fox blew a gasket when my state established a law saying you couldn't.

Okay, but when do I get superpowers?

I mean, seriously, it sounds like it'd be a good thing and all. I hope you don't take it as me being down on the idea or anything, I just do legitimately wonder how far 100 million would go towards dealing with the issue of transfolk.

100 Million? Is that after tax? If so, the first thing I would do is pay of my HECS debt and my mothers HECS debt, I'd buy myself, my parents and my grandmother houses (nothing ostentatious as we're not that kind of people), my dad would get a new car of his choice (I'd have mine fixed), my parents would get 10 million dollars each, my brothers 1 million each and my grandmothers would get a million each. So that's approaching 30 million, I'd give 10 million to split between various charities, the rest would probably go into savings.

This is all true, and highly depressing, and 100 million would not go very far.

But in the end, some funding is better than no funding? Depressing conversation is depressing D:

Get my teeth fixed, sop I can have a smile I can be proud of. Pay off parents bills for five years, and give a couple of million to my sister. Help friends out with their dreams. Publish my books, work on my comic book ideas (after hiring a lawyer to looking into the OGC License in regards to Dungeons and Dragons).

Start dating, and settle down.

Yeah... I would have the makings of a future historic dramedy movie about my life and times...
Could not have said it better, myself... Than again, over time, I would slowly move away to become just the main overseer of said expensive-looking apartment complexes for people with little to no income and go from having a part-time editor and publication staff for my writing to basically making it go full-time until I can't write no more, but for the most part, myself was basically right on the spot for the most part...

Other than that, strive to keep the friends and family that I grew up with in a more stable condition, especially my mom and grandma who have done so much for me since the day I was born... I mean, how can I help others if I can't help the ones I love and care for beforehand?

Hmm... I'd probably take some of the money, and invest in my grandfathers restaurant, which is his retiring business. Make sure he's got the money he needs to keep it going, possibly make a return personally on it, and when his days are finally through the business will still be with the family. Would probably send some money to my father as well, but he's a proud man and wouldn't take too much unless he needed it. Trick would be to keep my uncle off the money.

I'd take a small chunk and put it aside for my current schooling expenses. Canadian here so my student loans are pretty mellow in comparison to other things. Wouldn't move outta my current rental property until I'm done school, as it does me fine. When that's through, I'd buy myself a piece of land outside the city, and a good sized apartment or small house in the city proper. On the property, I'd build a large workshop to allow me to work on anything that strikes my fancy.

I don't think I'd donate much, if anything. If I felt charitable I'd establish my own damn foundation so that I actually know where the ruttin' money is going. Friends can go fuck themselves if they ask for money. I'll buy them shit all day so long as I feel like it, but if they come to me asking for handouts, they haven't earned them.

To be completely honest here, I'd barely end up using most of that money. Hire some accountant/investing firm to make sure the remaining ninety million gets bigger. Work if it amuses me, and if not, quit a job and go do whatever I want to do with the workshop and my computer.

The dream: Buy my own private island.
The reality: Build up a property portfolio, maybe get a nice apartment. Start up a charity, maybe, or at least give a lot to charity.

Just reading a few of these, I think I'm one of the only materialistic people here. But, whatever I guess.

First thing's first. Debt. Good bye student loans.

Next is paying off parent's houses. Both my mom and my mother in law. Then we're gonna fix up both of them to be super nice and probably give them a stipend so they don't have to work ever again.

Then I'd buy a house for me, my wife and my daughter up north, out of this god forsaken allergy ridden south. I need to live in a place that has a little spring and summer as possible.

Then I'd give a ton of money to my best friend. We've been friends for over 20 years. I'd let my wife give her friends stuff too.

Now the fun stuff! First, a Dodge Viper. Been wanting one ever since the Gran Turismo series launched. Then, I'd buy a really expensive cruise and we'd take our best friends and just chill. And If I could convince his wife, I'd buy him a house close to where I would end up living. Right now he's two states away.

Finally, investments. I'd make sure my daughter never had to work at a grocery store like her father did.
