I don't think there that much of a punk band there more corporate rock or fo-punk, but if you want real punk bands try gbh, rancid, leftover crack,or nofx !

I like a small number of their songs. I generally find that I can find something that I like in any genre of music. I often find about 2 songs from any 1 band that I like.

I like them, granted I'm not too much into their new stuff though Bolevard of Broken Dreams, American Idiot and Holiday are all good songs in my book, the fact is their music is still kind of a joy to listen to, it's a guilty pleasure.
Again, it's a sort of bond thing because my oldest sister loved their old stuff and naturally passed it on to me to listen to and I ended up liking it as a result. Hence even though it has declined in quality as the years progressed it'll always hold a soft spot in my heart when I remember the days me and my sister used to listen to it together.
This was one of the better memories I have.

You mean The Clash, The Sex Pistols, or The Dead Kennedys, right?

Personally I think they're awful; the music is just terrible and the vocals grating.

I just liked the old stuff, both American Idiot and the new album irritates me, but the others are fine.
Went to see them record the live album, and after that I didn't really ever listen to them again.

Never liked them, but that's mainly because of the genre. They don't suit a metalhead like me very well, I'm afraid.
Agreed, I'm way more into metal, but I don't see where their talent lies either. They're not particularly good players of their instruments, they don't write particularly good lyrics, and their singer isn't particularly good at singing....I mean, what's there to like?

loved them since dookie and even their album before that are good. alot of people dont like american idiot and i didnt either until i watched the live dvd bullet in a bible and that changed my mind, now i consider it to be just as good if not slightly better than dookie and nimrod. however the new album is just ok, it seems like they were trying too hard to recreate american idiot.

Don't like them. Basically anything that came out during or after the 90's I don't like. Of course there are exceptions.
Green Day is an American rock trio formed in 1987.

Lawyer'd.

Dislike greenday but you got to admit they've got staying power. They've been popular among teenagers for well over a decade. They are like the chili peppers but less talented. They've got more 1ups than mario.

Without getting into the debate about whether or not they're punk (because I don't give two fucks about what box people want to put bands in):

Up to Nimrod: amazing.
Warning: I really liked it, in fact still do, but I can see why so many people didn't.
American Idiot: initially good, but I got tired of it quickly.
21st Century Breakdown: initially horrible, but I can just about put up with it these days.

I would dearly love for them to stop this stupid lyrical pretense and concept nonsense and go back to writing songs about... the sort of random stuff they used to write about. The change in their sound didn't bother me in the slightest, I still think they're capable of writing some great tunes, it's just the lyrical content that makes me think "yeah, no".

Green Day?

Green wank more like.

Possibly one of the worst excuses of a punk band, ever.

Joe Strummer is rolling in his grave because of them.

I'm gonna go with a solid "meh" I don't really like them but everyone has their own opinion.
Agreed, if someone wants to like them, it's their choice.

I saw them live, and they were really good. Not a fan of their newest album, but they're good.
I've seen them as well, at Woodstock they had a GREAT set.

That being said, I'm not a fan either. Their "punk" is a joke, tho I'll give them a little credit--the last two albums were tolerable.

All their songs are so much alike. But they're not bad (the songs), so you'll like them (GD) for a while.
