I did used to like them. But I grew out of it at American Idiot. Then I found their earlier albums.

Liked them for a bit. Grew out of them again.

Their new stuff? Absolute poo poo.

Egh... I don't know. They aren't bad, but there isn't anything that sets them apart for me. They're a bit generic.

Insomniac is a brilliant album, the other stuff failed to draw me in. When I hear the latest stuff, I feel embarassed for them...
Insomniac was always my favourite. It's rarely that anyone agrees with me on that. Internet high-five, etc.

They are mediocre at best. I was indifferent towards them until I heard that the next Rock Band is going to be a Green Day exclusive.

What. The. Fuck?

How do they think that's going to sell?

They could have done Queen! Why didn't they do Queen?!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I like a few of their songs, but they are a generic, boring band, who no one really notices. I honestly thought they'd split up until a few months ago.

I don't think there that much of a punk band there more corporate rock or fo-punk, but if you want real punk bands try gbh, rancid, leftover crack,or nofx !
You mean The Clash, The Sex Pistols, or The Dead Kennedys, right?

Change the Sex Pistols to Rollins Band and we have ourselves a deal.

I like them.
Sure, I may have began listening to them after they released American Idiot and heard very little to none of their older stuff so I can't really compare them back then and now. But I enjoyed the old stuff I have heard and enjoy their newer albums, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown.

Went to see them in concert, did a bloody fantastic show, one of the best live bands I've ever seen. It's a laugh to watch them and they play their songs well and other peoples. Ain't to keen on the most recent album though.

I was recently having an argument with my friends on wether they thought Green Day was a good band or not. Alot of them said GD was just some weak punk rock band that just got lucky. While i'm not a big GD fan, i do think they are very artistic when it comes to punk rock. What do you think.
I think that Stiff Little Fingers, oh sorry, I mean Green Day are great and everyone should own their classic album "Inflammable Material", oh... sorry, I mean "Dookie". Yep.
What? I'm sure you're making a joke, but I can't tell what kind.

Wow, haters gonna hate, whadya know?

I like most of their stuff and absolutely love 'Warning' and 'Dookie'. Not my favourite band, but those two albums are in my top 20 at least. They're just good easy pop-punk, nice to listen to, fun with strong guitars. Their latest album is unbearable though, I think it's about time they call it quits.

This.

I'm more frustrated by how many people here are actually trying to have an opinion on GD when they aren't old enough to have ever heard Kerplunk or 1039/slappy hours. This isn't the first thread where some dink teenager has tried to a band based on maybe their last two albums at most. /rant

Yes I'm old and cranky **** off
I'm not old enough to have heard Kerplunk or 1039/slappy hours, and yet I have heard both Kerplunk and 1039/slappy hours. I'm frustrated by people who think that because I wasn't a teenager in the 90s, I can't possibly gain access to Green Day's complete discography and produce an informed decision.

Yes, I'm young and cranky #@$% off.

To clarify, Green Day are to Stiff Little Fingers what Rancid are to The Clash. Complete clones right down to the strumming style and vocal mannerisms.

I loved them.

Then their new one came out.

And blood shot out of my eyeballs in pure, absolute RAGE.
Seriously, the lyrics in every song consist of "something something Gloria, something something Jesus, something rebellion something."

Also, because they play that one song on the radio all day:

YES, I know my goddamned enemy. It's you, Green Day. It's always been you.
