I really hate to sound all trying-too-hard-to-be-edgy-and-cynical, but I get the impression the Escapist posts these kind of "Entity X says games are bad" articles just because they know it's guaranteed to produce traffic.

I'm sorry but its a site about gaming why would they not post gaming related articles.

Men and women are not in some kind of battle for supremacy. This is the silliest thing I have heard today. Granted it's still early.

Further, why is it the married people I know all play more video games than me? Yesterday when I logged on my XBox, I found three of my friends, all married, playing BLOPS in a party together, and they'd been playing for hours. This is pretty common for me, really.

Bennett thinks it is a shame that women hold more college degrees than men and that their salaries are growing much faster than men.

But tell me something wrong about this man. He sounds too perfect to be true.

And they may say back "Given you have taxed the hell out of our other pursuits, video games bring in more money than any other entertainment form out there (including Hollywood) and you've limited the number of jobs we can get, perhaps you can explain why the challenging job you took failed abysmally, where drug use is now more common than ever."

They may also add "Up until recently I couldn't get married - not until you let us marry other men, against your will."


Oh, and having a radio talk show from 6 am 'til 9am is NOT a challenging job.

After taking a few minutes to read up on Bennet, I concur with Sober Thal's analysis. I think we have enough evidence to dislike the man without resorting to baseless accusations that he advocates genocide.

I also found out that he received flak for wasting millions of dollars on gambling in Las Vegas, yet that's not mentioned at all in Tito's article. I guess "genocidal racist" sounds juicier than "gambling problem," regardless of its veracity.

I also nearly stifled a laugh when he includes music within this as well. Can we not be completely convinced that all these people are just failed rockstars who are now being scrooges ruining this for the rest of us?

Also, Interesting fact for the day - 90% of all UK depression sufferers who go to their GP, are suffering from work place related stress as the leading cause for their depression. You know, cause they're all totally playing games all day and stuff. Obviously.

For boys to become men, they need to be guided through advice, habit, instruction, example and correction. It is true in all ages. Someone once characterized the two essential questions Plato posed as: Who teaches the children, and what do we teach them? Each generation of men and women have an obligation to teach the younger males (and females of course) coming behind them. William Wordsworth said, "What we have loved, others will love, and we will teach them how." When they fail in that obligation, trouble surely follows.

We need to respond to this culture that sends confusing signals to young men, a culture that is agnostic about what it wants men to be, with a clear and achievable notion of manhood.'-

You should know by now that most people who actually respond to these types of posts either barely read the OP and then post, or only read the headline and post based on that. (Yes, I know there are people who actually read more before posting, as I'm one of them, so don't take offense if you happen to read my post because you're not one of the types of people I was talking about.)
