What are you on about? You mean I can't go around in real life spraying dual wielded Desert Eagles?

I don't know anything about guns and I'm not going to pretend I do after playing COD. At least these idiots who do get guns can hopefuly blow their own heads(and other body parts)off away from the smart people who can distinguish between reality and a game.
Oh well, at least they'll be helping weed out the stupid genes with their idiocy:D

I am completley unintrested in the whole Guns debate. If someone comes up to me to mug me or something, I cannot do anything, as I have no gun (Britain), and even if I did, he would surely attack before I could draw. And if he had a gun as well, I'd be dead, so booyah

Another intresting note is the source's comment on the "Belt Below a level Belts should not Go"

I. HATE. THIS. SO. MUCH

Words cannot describe the sheer stupidity of people who do this. Seriously, all you're saying to the world is "I'm cool enough to have a half-functioning cerebellum! What am a belt, anyhoo?"

RELATED SIDENOTE!

A thought occurs to me, mabye the Yanks on here can help me out:

You're allowed a concealed firearm, aren't you? If I had a poncho on and wore a hip holster that, if I hadn't got the poncho on, would be blatantly visible...does that count as a concealed firearm, or a firearm that happens to have a bit of material hiding it?

I play a lot of games, and I don't know anything about guns.
But ya, I do get the feeling a lot of people think they're gun experts by playing video games.

Well, I complain about n00bs who think they're a gamer because they can identify the SMB theme song.

Suck it up, it's popular culture.

I can't be the only one drawing parallels between this and the "geniuses" of Guitar Hero that think they know how to play real guitar.

Let me shoot you with one..then you'll find they are "good weapons" either in .357Magnum,.44Magnum or .50Action Express.

I knew more about guns than I did games growing up.Before I virtually fired a M16 style weapon..I was firing a M1 Carbine.I've got a M1903 Springfield in .30-06 with a variable power scope.

When I do talk guns with my friends,we usually complain about the hit factor..as in a FAMAS or SPAS12 in R6 Vegas 2 against a M468 or a .308 HK G3KA4
Large majority of my friends on LIVE are former military. They do own guns(one owns a kimber .45,and a HK 91) and they do play video games..especially first person shooters.

As something of a "local firearm specialist, long time hunter and army trained soldier" I really dislike this effect video games may have on people's attitude towards firearms. They become entertainment and more toys than what they actually are- tools for killing things. A total lack of respect is dangerous. And it really does get annoying when people get exited about guns they notice in games and think Call of duty is a combat simulator. Kids see the boomboom explosionfest action and think "that's what military must be like, you get to shoot shit and guns have no safety and you never have to clean them!"

Yes, I blame call of duty, along with just about every other modern gun-wanking FPS. MW2 is the worst offender, I think the designers forgot to add something called "r-e-c-o-i-l".

[small]I've been actively using firearms since 1997, spent 2 years in the military, been hunting since 2000, and have a rather large collection of historical weapons. I go to gun conventions across Europe, and even the States, as a presenter and as a customer. I have fired hundreds of different weapons, varying from .50 antimaterial rifles to .22 pistols and even flintlock muskets. A 12-year-old with Xbox Live gold only makes me laugh, or angry. Or both.[/small]

I do find it quite annoying when people start sounding off on how they know about firearms beacsue they have unlocked every perk for the pistol in COD,

Saftey, eject said round, clear the breech check the mag?
We aren't actually taught about misfires in cadets, since they are not called that, but I do know my stoppage/blockage drills if they are the same thing.

This is further proof that games like MW2 and Halo should NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE be sold to anyone under the age of 18.

Parents should not be allowed to buy these games either. They just end up in the hands of bratty 12 year old xbox 360 users.
That doesnt make sense since you cant walk into a shop and ask for guns unless your twenty one, and I dont think the 12 year olds got thir moms to drive them

Oh, you are not. It's about the same level of idiocy, only less dangerous. A douchebag wearing a baseball cap backwards and thinking he can play guitar won't be at the risk of accidentally killing anyone if he is handed a real guitar. Whereas an average "I learnt about guns from COD" -retard might either break the gun or shoot someone if he gets hold of one.

Amazing how some people blur the line between games and reality. I'm surprised that Forza hasn't turned everyone into racing pros.
Point the gun down, and down-range (usually at a 45 degree angle, I was taught), call out "misfire". attempt to eject the round, and clear the chamber. Then try to figure out what the hell happened.

Some people attempt to fire to clear the chamber, but I've always figured saving possible explosion is worth the cost of a bullet.

MY only question is what's wrong with having a hobby interest in guns? I mean I've got little to no interest in actually using said weapons, but as a writer who frequently features firearms in his pieces I definitely enjoy learning about them.

I love guns because I was raised in a House with 2 cops not only was my Dad a cop but also S.W.A.T. (R.I.P. Dad) When I was a kid I did not watch saturday mourning cartoons I watched war movies with him. But I'm a gamer too so I love guns in all ways.

I'm not a gun enthusiast here, but I get sick of my brother pointing out the name of every gun he sees because it's in the games.

These people should instead fire two rangers or Models at the same time, if they could find it.

Ess Em Gee, I like that.

I had heard of the Bushmaster ACR way before MW2, mainly because i have an interest in weapons. also i believe it was first called the magpul massada. before the company was taken over by Bushmaster and the weapon rights changed. I also watch shows such as future weapons :)
