You know what I hate? I hate that groups like LulzSec and Anonymous claim that they are upholding and protecting freedom of speech, while simultaneously defacing PBS's website because of an allegedly biased report.

I'll also bet you that NONE of the hackers from either group own a PS3; they don't seem to realize that I paid more than 3-hundred dollars for a product that relies on Sony's network.

I honestly would like to see these idiots beaten publicly just for being such inconsiderate douchebags.

these hackers need to go away, taking down psn isnt even hurting them, its not like xbox live where people pay to use it, the only thing thats happening is that the hackers are making themselves look bad

edit:its kind of a shame to, ive grown to respect anon but this psn bullshit needs to stop, and now other (anon wannabes most likely) are getting in on it, it has just gotten out of hand and is only hurting the innocents

Well, they still haven't developed a proper sense of humour, that's for sure.
Now, one question still remains: Seriously? Dude, why?
What are they going to do next? Punch a badger because it was questioning their methods?

The original attacks against Sony were a reaction to the company suing hacker George Hotz and Sony's out of court settlement with Hotz doesn't seem to have let it off the hook.
That was just one incident. Sony has a history of bullying people with lawyers and threats to take people to court just to end up with a settlement.

Going over to one of the console modding news sites, I saw they were talking extensively about cases still going on where Sony was getting their go-to lawyers to employ scare tactics through fabricated injunctions, even bypassing the typical C&D steps, and most people end up shutting down their websites, blogs, or their online presence altogether.

These hackers are dickshits. Are they that fucking retarded to see that their righteous bullshit is just transparent now, and if they genuinely mean it, then they're just fucking over all of Sony's customers.

Sony is a money grubbing corporation. For years there main strategy was making things that require specifically their technology. Blu ray and Beta tapes are two examples of this. Besides that I also remember back when one of PS3's most marketed selling points was backwards compatability . . . which they took away from the newer ps3 models.

And even with all this I still can't see eye to eye with these hackers. What they're doing is griefing the customers and this stupid vendetta has to stop. No matter how good your message is -or your programming skills - you must be some kind of retard to think this is going to tear down the sony corporation. If anything they're doing the opposite and basically making the Sony customers rally more with the corporation.

I.E Me. A guy who is kind of on the fence when it comes to gaming corporations.

Good job, besides failing at being a decent person you also fail at promoting your ideal.

I wouldn't hope these individuals to be killed. Heck, I wouldn't even want a single strain of hair taken from them. But you know what? I hope they're put in this prison with only a PS3 that runs on an extremely lossy connection. One that disconnects every five minutes, and one so wretched they get booted from the game 75% of the time. Yup, that's good enough for me. If they're caught that'll be good enough for me because I can sleep with the knowledge that they're being raped.

... I still don't even know why. Where's their motivation?
These people have zero imagination to do anything constructive. They have these computer skills, and all they can do with it is disrupt internet usage and steal/copy information.
I am reminded of John Malkovich as Cyrus the Virus in Con Air, giving his opinion on rapists. I feel it applies the same to people like these.
What these morons don't seem to realize is they are not only attacking Sony, but also attacking all of its customers. They are alienating the people that they are so-called defending, and then are only making it worse with the prices inevitably going up because of the money this is costing Sony, as well as the taxpayer dollars that the government has to spend to find these douchebags as well as work to improve security on the federal side of things.
This is terrorism at its base level, and these people deserve to sit on the same bus as AlQaeda and Hamas.

So does this clear the name of "Anonymous" for the most part? Since this group with an actual name seems to be taking all the credit.

Surely you'd give 16 year olds credit for coming up with better names than that.
They must be 12-14 tops.

OT: Yeah, I don't have a ps3 so I don't really care.
Let's see if they know what they're talking about.
And if they are prepared for mass hatred from around the globe.

Who benefits from this? Who? WHO THE FUCK WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS? WHO ASKED THEM TO DO THIS?

Why? Noone will come out feeling better! WHY? Why do this kind of people even exist? So they can wave their electronic schlong in my face and say 'look what I can do to you'?

I know how to blow your house up with soap! DOES THAT GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO DO IT?

Stupid, stupid, stupid...
Well, if you take your soap and blow up the terrorists, maybe you get an award instead of punishment...
On the other hand:
I know the basics of shooting and I know a lot about killing bare-handed.
Does that give me the right to hunt these bastards down and employ my skills?
At least EVERY PSN USER would BENEFIT from this.

Here is a nice suggestion sony:
Start employing ASSASSINS and Head Hunters.
Might give you a bad rep, but it will solve the hacker problem...

it's funny how the attitude towards the hackers have turned 180 degrees. there used to be a 50/50 split between support for them and people hating them. how on earth do you get everyone to hate you?

By taking away their luxuries of course.
