Wow. These people are actually starting to look like terrorists to me. They want to be known for these things so as to instill fear into people for their own ends. Sounds like terrorism to me.

"Shake the foundation of the internet"? I'll have all but forgotten that this ever happened by next month. Invent Skynet and THEN we'll talk about shaking the foundation of the internet.

They are also hackers on steroids.

Nah "they" are not really that at all. It's not about insilling fear into people, it's about generating amusement.

Isn't the car crash "joke" pretty old too? Or was that Miley Cyrus or one of the Jonas Brothers?
Anyway, I think those fake death messages and Shock Pornography are the lowest of the low. Especially when the main target consists of 10 - 13-years-old girls.
But, hey, that's the interwebz, right? >_>

Actually, there are rules 1&2 on 4chan, but the *censored* newfags always shout out "4CHAN LOL" on raids.

It was both of us, actually, not just one or the other. It originated off of Embaums, but spread to 4 pretty quickly. I would know, I was part of it. Essentially all it did was disable the ability to post or edit comments, while displaying a big scrolling text message saying whatever you wanted it to. Besides, the best way to get a bug fixed is to exploit it until they don't have a choice but to fix it.

I know all of the jokes, and I used to agree with you, but many of them take these things very seriously. Behavior like this could very well escalate.

4chan actually mobilized? WHY DIDN'T I GET THE MEMO?!

Actually, the fact that they can organize anything beyond chatroulette and facebook trolls genuinely surprises me.

Edit: If this was eBaums, I'm even more surprised since all they ever do is squabble amongst themselves and openly hate anyone that isn't white and atheist.

"4Chan was apparently responsible for the attacks, with one poster saying that it was a reminder that its members could "still shake the foundation of the internet.""

Hollow souls.

Oh really? They did? Well, I sure didn't notice. Because I don't listen to Justin Beaver or whatever the hell his name is.

Holy shit, do they really have nothing better to do?
We're posting on forums, do we really have nothing better to do? Doesn't mean we have to do something better or more productive, just because it's there.

"Shake the foundation of the internet"....?

Really?

Dude, you messed with a Youtube video on a holiday where you should have been out partying with friends.

Congrats on your mediocrity.
Not everyone is American.
True, true.

But still, next time I want 4chan to come up with something creative.

Telling everyone that Justin Beiber died in a car crash was pretty damn good, but porn has been beaten to death.

Next time, they need to do something like, I don't know, put up a fake PSA announcing that Russia is invading the USA..... Or something.
I agree, they could also redirect people to propaganda posters. All in the name of humor, of course.

Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off.

I'm glad 4Chan didn't come after us after that whole Zynga incident.

This is funny and all but it is just fueling the fire. Congress is hard at work trying to establish a branch of the military that will deal with just "cyber terrorism" soon the internet will be like one long trip through airport security. Hackers are tomorrow's freedom fighters.
