Um, NSFW notation, please?
No.

Unless you work at the Escapist you shouldn't be on this site during work hours anyway. I don't really care if you follow a link you clearly didn't read and that leaves you more obviously stealing time at work.
I wasn't at work, I'm a child. With my mother behind me.

I didn't expect to get flashed, I figured they kept clothes on the damn thing.

First, can we get a post of that "Don't Date Robots clip" frm Futurama, honestly we needed that shit seven pages ago, if already posted apologies I browsed through the first four pages and after that the urge to comment overwhelmed me.

*topic* I doubt the people that wish to fly out to Japan would win over a lady there. I mean, if they're already physically/mentally/financially unattractive in their native lands, what makes them think they would fare any better overseas?

Well seeings as the level of humor in my statements was kinda missed, ill go ahead and make it even more humorous. They are sex objects, and the fact that Japanese men turning to pixelated AI shows just how much they dont want to accept what they are.

I know I tend to use flowery speech and million dollar words, making it seem like im serious, but theres always a joke hidden in there.

Honestly, the title of this article is giving the wrong impression. Every time I click on one of these articles and see an eye-catching title, it's pretty much instinct for me to read the article in depth and know just how much the title is exaggerating. In this one, it's borderline lying.

It's not that Japanese women find these AI programs specifically tailored to appeal to men who want a woman's attention "superior", it's just that, in terms of swooning over some random guy, the program that designers have slaved over making as efficient as possible is obviously going to be able to be able to talk its way into a desperate guy's heart. Will there be guys who seek to live their lives with a program? Yes, but I don't think many Japanese girls are going to be losing sleep over that. Also keep in mind that these guys aren't going to have to worry about things like the AI's snoring habits or how the AI doesn't fold her laundry. These robots have a specific audience, and it's likely that a majority of the Japanese female community isn't too heavily interested in forming intense relationships with that audience. There's no Japanese damsel in distress, waiting impatiently for a guy to rescue her from the horde of robot-obsessed males that plague Japan. But, if you play around with your article title a bit, you can sure make people think that.

This is why Japan has a negative population growth...

I never knew Japan has such interesting cultural data. Keep bringing in the interesting tid-bits!

That's because they're right.

Virtual girlfriends are easy to please, they don't nag, they're cute, have great personalities and you don't have to wear yourself out every other night.

Given that, it is easy to see why they are jealous of virtual girlfriends. Because, quite simply, they ARE superior.
And i assume don't have that monthly war that goes on down there that causes hell to rain down on the life of every man within a 20 mile radius.

Not necessarily a bad thing, after all, Japan is very overpopulated.
What? Japan's population is dieing out, they even let people go home early on Wednesday if they try to reproduce because they need more babies so badly.

A great many First World nations have declining birthrates as well. It is a symptom of reaching such high levels of development and population density.

'They' is an exageration. Canon Co. have offered that. You have to realise that the declining birthrate is a hot topic and it isn't because of a lack of sexual appetite or deviant behaviour, as some comments seem to imply. A declines in birthrates is a symptom of the First World. Having kids is a matter of choice and not a matter of survival. Japanese people love 'love' as much as the next culture, but stats show they they don't necessarilt love having kids. Perhaps they can't afford it, or their career can't accomodate it, or maybe they can't 'see sense bringing a child into a world as screwed as this'. All of those sentiments are echoed the world over. "Dying out" is sheer hyperbole, considering just how dense the population of Japan is. It is true that their population is ageing, but that is becoming a global problem for the First World, and for Japan, with a population not so much constantly boosted by immigration (as, say, the USA), the stats paint a much clearer picture of this universal problem. But yes, with towns like Yubari going bankrupt due a lack of workforce (caused by the young moving away to larger cities), the issue is one that is important.

And intelligence.

It's a well known fact that higher intelligence means lower birth rates.
Interesting. I can see perhaps why. Intelligence is often measured in the context of proficiency in non-essential things, whereas peoples who must struggle with their environment on a daily basis, have intelligence unaccounted for by First World Western standards. Therefore, people at the top of the scale often enjoy lives where money and consumerism are the driving forces of existance, and children can run counter to that. I think that intelligence is a correlation, but not causative. The causative factor is that people eventually choose not to have kids, often because they don't need them, can't be bothered with them, feel that they aren't 'allowed to', or can't convince themselves that it is morally the right thing to do. Outside of the First world, kids are often a matter of survival - income, care, workforce, religious/social need, etc. However, when the term 'Intelligence' is used, it us often used to refer to things that such poeple economically have very little chance to experience, let alone study or learn.
