"Anyway, as some one probably told you, the Slipspace jump went wrong, there was a malfunction of some sort and the RUNNING theory is we're in some kinda of alternate dimension, or universe, which ever is easier to get you head around, a to why the aliens." The female Spartan said pointing to a 'Citadel Race' being known as Luna, she then continued. "Are here, we apparently dropped out of Slipspace in they're back yard, 'Citadel Council' space, as I've been told, all I really know about them is they pretty much run this part of space, and the Captain worked out some kind, only bit of which I know is that so long as we're here, we work for them." The Spartan then finished speaking, only to be continued on by Luna.
"Sergeant, Sarah is pretty much right on the nail. The reason why there are a number of new species on the ship is because the Council didn't want a ship never seen before running around with no experience of how to deal with threats in this universe." Luna explained, clutching onto what looked like a sniper rifle, if thats what it was in this universe. Everett thought for a moment, giving himself time to take in all this new information.
"Well, thank you very kindly ladies for bringing me up to speed on current events. If we are going to be going on a mission soon, no doubt to prove the worth of the UNSC, I may as well get myself armed and armoured for whatever this place can throw at us." Everett remarked, showing a brief smile to the two women, before heading off to collect his gear. He was soon met by one of the quartermasters.
"Ah, Staff Sergeant Kerrigan, glad to see you've woken up from the land of the nod." The man said with a brief chuckle.
"Yeah yeah, very nice to see you too Francis. Now, tell me, did my armour and weapons get brought on board?" Everett asked with a rather stern tone of voice.
"Jeez man lighten up, it was just a joke. Yeah, your gear got brought on board, and has been stored here ever since you went into cryo-sleep. Should be enough ammunition supplied with your guns to last whatever these new guys are throwing us into." Francis, slightly scared by the ODST's tone. Everett soon went over to the armour stand and weapons stand that Francis pointed him at, and got suited up.
"Its good to be back in the saddle." Everett thought to himself, chuckling to himself underneath his helmet as he finished putting on his partially customised Sharpshooter armour. It took a few moments for the VISR (Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance) to become fully operational, what with it being a new location, but it soon started giving out all the various battle data, and waypoint information.
"Well, at least that appears to working. Might have to give it a while to adjust to this new universe though." Everett said, as he began making weapons checks. First came his twin combat knives, which he tossed in the air a few times, finishing with a few practice stabs before placing them in the holsters. After making sure his gear functioned properly and loading them up with ammunition, he made his way back to the others.
"Well, at least our equipment appears to be working." Everett casually remarked to the group that was beginning to form.
