This is hilarious.
If there's something Halo fans don't like it's anime
Here comes MASTARA CHIEFU.

Um... I know plenty of people that love both, thank you very much. I'm not one of them, though I do enjoy the occasional anime, but trust me when I say that it's surprising how much fans of western sci-fi and anime meld together. At least where I live...Casual Shinji said:This is hilarious.

I see no problem with that, Gundam rocks.NoMoreSanity said:... Someone making a gunfight look like a battle in Gundam? Check. Yep, it's an anime...
There were 150 original Spartan IIs. Some were bound to be of the fairer sexAmrasCalmacil said:Okay, it looks pretty fancy. Wonder who the blonde woman is, I never even knew there were female Spartans.
Which is exactly why I'm looking forward to this so much. I loved the Animatrix.StigmataDiaboli said:If anything it looks like the Animatrix; same source material, different animation styles.
From what I've seen on other forums Halo-fans are spitting blood over the whole ordeal.ZeroMachine said:Um... I know plenty of people that love both, thank you very much. EDIT: Not only that, but I'm actually going to use this to get some of my friends that are more hardcore anime fans into Halo. They were already curious, but just didn't have a good entrance to it (as they suck at FPS's) but this may be the pull they need to get into a rich, detailed universe.
There's one with the designation 117. That's Mastara Chiefu-san's designation.ZeroMachine said:And what's with everyone assuming the Spartan in any of these previews is the Chief? All Spartans have the same armor... for all you guys know, he ain't in any of the shorts
There were, before this. I don't know any myself (I've only played the 3 main games and browsed the Halo community wiki once), but they exist.AmrasCalmacil said:Wonder who the blonde woman is, I never even knew there were female Spartans.
Same here, although I'd advise waiting for at least a few episodes before casting your final opinion. Maybe it just needs to Grow The Beard first.Deleric said:Meh. I guess I'll reserve my opinion until the first episode.
Maybe you should read the books.AmrasCalmacil said:Okay, it looks pretty fancy. Wonder who the blonde woman is, I never even knew there were female Spartans.
If it's only going to be a 7 episode miniseries like the article said, it better impress on at least the first two episodes. 24-26 episode anime series normally get a 4-5 to interest me, but when it's only got 7, they really have to draw you in at the start or risk losing their audience.Strategia said:Same here, although I'd advise waiting for at least a few episodes before casting your final opinion. I'm kinda surprised... but now that I think of it, it's probably just my group of friends (and other groups like it). Guess I'm just that luckyCasual Shinji said:From what I've seen on other forums Halo-fans are spitting blood over the whole ordeal.ZeroMachine said:*snip*
I love(mostly 90's)anime myself. But they're all "We don't want no emo Master-chief" and whatnot.
Huh... didn't notice that you could see the numbers. Just watched it again and saw them. My bad.Strategia said:There's one with the designation 117. Well, the first two or three may just be getting into the swing of things. Could very well be that the compelling story/characters/whatever only becomes a big part halfway through, and the first few are introduction. Besides, if it's only 7 episodes, I think I'd rather give my opinion on the whole rather than on the first two episodes.Amnestic said:If it's only going to be a 7 episode miniseries like the article said, it better impress on at least the first two episodes. 24-26 episode anime series normally get a 4-5 to interest me, but when it's only got 7, they really have to draw you in at the start or risk losing their audience.
And, if you'll notice, towards the end the number 117 is briefly visible on a Spartan's armour as he draws his energy sword.grimsprice said:exactly. and if anyone remembered... the chiefs number was 117... not 1337... doubt the chief is in this.
Nah, Strategia was right, in the duel between the Spartan and the Elite, 117 is clearly visible on the armor.grimsprice said:ZeroMachine said:Brutes? That's basically what they are...popdafoo said:Did... Did I see at one point Master Chief being picked up by a giant gorilla?

I don't think it'll work that way... I'm pretty sure it's more Animatrix style. Same source, same universe, different stories.Strategia said:Well, the first two or three may just be getting into the swing of things.
