Halo Legends Trailer Unveiled, Has Teddy Bear(?)

I've played all of the games, and the what i seemed to have gathered is that the forerunners made the halo rings as a last resort when the flood attacked. The covenant is using the rings for there own stupid cult, holding close to the same beliefs of our terrorists today, that if they commit suicide, heaven will be waiting for them. Humanity is just trying not to get the snot nuked out of them and stop the covenant. this i've gathered this from playing the first 2 halo games at my friends house and actually owning the 3rd. If this isn't the basic idea of the halo series, then they are sending some real mixed messages. I can only assume the books go into further detail or branch off into a completely different story

That is indeed the primary story. Halo: The Flood covers (or re-covers) the first game; aside from that, Halo: The Fall of Reach and Halo: First Strike star the Master Chief right before and right after the first game (and H:TF) respectively, and the other books, games, and comic books are more tangentially related.
Is there something wrong with that?

my god. you disgust me bungie. im not saying because of personal distaste for anime, but since bungie's an american company, and i feel as if they're just doing this cuz anime's a popular medium. however, i do remember bungie making an anime game, i think, so i might be wrong there

Seeing this though...turning my favorite series into something I despise is...oh...excuse me, let me cry in my corner...

Never - and I mean NEVER - did I imagine that something even remotely like this could happen.

Therefore, as both a Halo and anime fan, I am very intrigued by this; the fact that there are several high profile anime studios working on this project is a big plus.

Also, the Toei clip had me laughing - '1337' indeed.

As long as they display the aliens (in particular the elites) in a favourable light and not just one dimensional monsters then I think I might enjoy this. As it stands two of my favourite things are Japanese Animation and Halo so this looks good. I also hope we see the Arbiter in this as he is my favourite by far.
I think you get a brief glimpse of him in the trailer though.

Well he *is* trained for combat and how to use alien weapons as well as human. I think the weird distortion effect around the outside of the video didn't help. I thought you were referring to his FALCON PUNCH! rather than the sword fight.

And that Spartan in larger mecha-style armour is probably not the Master Chief. It makes sense that they'd have different equipment sets for their specific mission/preferred fighting style, I suppose.

Though I did note that one of the Spartans you saw only briefly looked extremely similar to the Ahead [http://mechafans.com/upload/159-GNX-704T-SP-Ahead-Smultron.jpg] mobile suit from Gundam 00.

Well, I am a fan of both halo and anime. It looks interesting to say the least, and if "canon" should be tossed aside, I'll say out loud "you can't do this! It's against canon!" Then go back to watching it.

Anyway, it looks alright.

EDIT: Bungie doesn't have a say in the Halo IP any more guys, Microsoft does. So, you can't blame Bungie for what you feel Microsoft is doing wrong.

I'm curious to see how this turns out. Halo and anime are from two different worlds. However, I can see how the two can make either something awesome or something absolutely horrible. We'll just wait and see.
