I've bought Fallout 3 twice and I own 2 copies of Borderlands(one was a gift one was purchased). If I wanted to get the DLC I was missing it would have cost more than the price of the GOTY edition so it was just a better option to buy another.

Was a big fan of Primal, bought it when I borrowed a PS2 from a friend. Re-bought if a few months ago because I have my own PS2 now.. and it was only 3 euros.

Got the Orange Box twice. Once on 360 and on Steam.

Nothing else really.. see no reason why :p.

So I saw someone mention the mobile games. Totally forgot about those. I have bought quite a lot of games I already own on other systems for the iPhone, like:

- All Final Fantasy games on the iPhone
- Chrono Trigger
- Secret of Mana
- Monkey Island 1 and 2
- Broken Sword 1 and 2
- Beneath a Steal Sky
- Both GTA games

I bought RE4 multiple times for the many different systems it came out on (excluding iPhone/iPad) because they all had different exclusions/versions except PC, I just wanted to see how the game played and looked on the PC... which wasn't too bad, but you couldn't use mouse controls.... still had to use controller or keyboard only.

Well I bought Mass Effect 1 again after I got into ME2.

I also bought Abe's Oddysee twice after I got it the first time as a kid. One from a used game and DVD store, the second time via the PSN because I had to get a new PS3 due to the older one breaking down with my copy of the game still in it. I also bought Abe's Exoddus and Stranger's Wrath both via download through the PSN.

Also, I bought the Ico collection, which included Shadow of the Colossus, so I technically own two copies of the game. :)

That's all I can think of at the top of my head.

The only games I've bought double have been GTA IV and Portal. I bought them for PC when I sold my Xbox (though Portal was free on Steam at the time).
I also own a PC and PS3 copy of Oblivion, but the PC is mine and the PS3 is my sister's and we don't usually use each other's systems.

Had to buy Starcraft and Brood War again because my Blizzard account was compromised.

Bought Mass Effect twice. Once on disc, which I found unplayably buggy, and once through Steam when it was on sale for pennies, in the vain hope that a fully digital, fully updated copy might work. Nope.

Got Doom II and Doom 3 again when I bought the id Super Pack during one of those insane Steam Christmas sales.

Bought Final Fantasy VII again on PSN.

Got several Valve games again because they came packaged with new games: Portal, Team Fortress 2 (back when you had to buy it), Half-Life 2, and probably a couple more. Not sure that counts as they weren't bought so much as free with purchase of other product.

Naturally I have bought games for other people that I also bought for myself. Also don't think that counts.

I only did that with Phantasy Star Zero.
The first purchase was an import cos the UK release was months after the US release (seriously what the hell? There was different between the two versions at all and the UK didn't have multiple languages either). When the UK version did arrive I bought it again to show my support for the game and also to played it again with different classes since you can have only three characters slots per cartridge and there were like fourteen character classes to choose from.

GTA IV and the GTA III/VC/SA pack on Steam, after I already had them on 360/PS2. The much-improved processor speed made a HUGE difference in gameplay. On the 360 version of GTA IV, when driving at dangerous speeds, I would occasionally crash into obstacles that were invisible because they hadn't been rendered yet. That never happens on the PC version.

Two times Rez
Two times Psychonauts
Two times Super Meat Boy
Two times Portal
Two times Dark Chronicle
Three times Final Fantasy X (and before you ask, no, it's NOT my favorite FF game)

And a whole bunch of old PSOne games I already owned, but couldn't resist buying another copy of on PSN.

I have two Minecraft accounts, and a few of the games on my Steam list I bought even though I had them in disc format. I just like Steam...

Assassin's Creed, Lost Odyssey and Halo 3. All of those were because the disc kept getting some kind of error and became unplayable.

I own three copies of Oblivion. I bought the game for the PC before I owned a 360, but my PC at the time wasn't quite there and the game ran super-slow. When I got a 360 I re-purchased the game, and finally got to enjoy it. Then a year or so later, I picked up a copy of the GotY to play Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. That doesn't even count the $20 or so I spent on the other DLC.

Then finally I got a proper gaming PC, and having long ago lost my installation key (not to mention not owning the GotY for the PC), I wasn't about to buy the game again. A case of justified piracy if there ever was one.

Bought XCOM Apocalypse on steam when I still had the disc, $5 is worth not having to figure out DOSBOX.

Re-bought Soul Calibur 4 after playing the travesty that is Soul Calibur 5.

Re-bought Ring of Red, SSX 3, and Kingdom Hearts to restore the PS2 collection I sold long ago.

I'm waiting very impatiently for GOG to release Carmageddon so I can buy it again.

Rome Total War, Shogun 2, and Empire; bought them on release and got the Sega Publisher bundle from Steam.

I've bought Tom Clancy's Endwar twice, forcing me to admit that I'm a bit of a thickie.

I bought Oblivion 3 times, retail PC (the disk broke), 360 version and Steam.

Company of Heroes twice, one retail (damned disk broke too) and another on Steam, including expansions.

Fear twice, one retail (shitty spanish version) and another on Steam.

Far Cry twice, retail (shitty spanish version) and Steam.

Call of Duty 4 twice, one retail and another on Steam.

Doom 3 twice, retail and the id Super Pack through Steam.

BioShock twice, PC retail and 360 version.

Super Meat Boy twice, one at a discount through Steam and another in a Humble Indie Bundle.

Amnesia, same as with SMB.

Penumbra Overture like 3 times, 2 Humble Indie Bundles and another through Frictional themselves, with included Black Plague and Requiem. I bought them through Steam too, just for the lulz.

I bought Guild Wars twice (thrice if you count a gift I gave to a friend through a Steam sale), I bought the vanilla GOTY edition and the Trilogy edition, not counting the Eye of The North expansion, all of them retail.

Also, I've bought World of Goo like 4 or 5 times, including Bundles. I've honestly lost the count.

And that's all I can remember for now.
