I bought JC for the Xbox then the 360 because the graphical difference between the two is unparalleled.

Two copies of Mass Effect for PC. Lost the original copy, bought the second a few months prior to Mass Effect 2 release.
Also Dead island, that deal for four copies was too good to resist.

I own 2 copies of Oblivion, Morrowind, Monkey Island 1 & 2, and Delta Force Black Hawk Down.

All on PC, some through steam. Black Hawk Down because I couln't find my other copy and it was only £1 in Gamestation.

I bought Star Wars Battlefront 2 about five times because the game kept getting all scratched up, and me and my brother still wanted to play it.

Civilization 4. First I bought it when it was new, then many years later I bought a complete edition on ebay, and later I bought it on a steam sale when I didn't want to deal with the disk anymore.

FF7, only because I lost one of the original disks. Most likely would buy it again if it ever got that remake.

I have a habit of selling games and then buying them back.

I bought multiple copies of the Baldur's Gate series over the years - this seems to be fairly common.

If similar Pokemon versions count, then RBY, GSC, and RSE.

If similar Pokemon versions don't count and/or games I didn't actually buy myself don't count, then just Plants Vs. Zombies. I got it on iOS App Store for $3 and PC Steam for $3-something. Both were worth it.

Yes.
Agarest 2. I bought the digital USA version because i couldn't wait for EU version to come to my country. Then i bought physical collector's version so i can have all 3 games on my shelf.

Star ocean 4. xbox 360 version and PS3 version. Because xbox 360 English dub suck so hard i was unable to fully enjoy game on xbox 360 so i had to buy the game on PS3.

Several. It helps having 2 brothers is disposable income.

The most memorable would be Batman: Arkham Asylum. Three days after launch, my brother sends me ouyt to get it for the 360. Soon as I get back, I see my other brother and tell him I got the game. Turns out he bought it on launch for his PS3 and didn't tell anybody.

I'm currently waiting for Fallout New Vegas to go on sale on Steam because our 360 version is 90% fucked. Plus I can use console commands and stuff.

I've bought Fallout 3 twice and I own 2 copies of Borderlands(one was a gift one was purchased). If I wanted to get the DLC I was missing it would have cost more than the price of the GOTY edition so it was just a better option to buy another.

Was a big fan of Primal, bought it when I borrowed a PS2 from a friend. Re-bought if a few months ago because I have my own PS2 now.. and it was only 3 euros.

Got the Orange Box twice. Once on 360 and on Steam.

Nothing else really.. see no reason why :p.

So I saw someone mention the mobile games. Totally forgot about those. I have bought quite a lot of games I already own on other systems for the iPhone, like:

- All Final Fantasy games on the iPhone
- Chrono Trigger
- Secret of Mana
- Monkey Island 1 and 2
- Broken Sword 1 and 2
- Beneath a Steal Sky
- Both GTA games

I bought RE4 multiple times for the many different systems it came out on (excluding iPhone/iPad) because they all had different exclusions/versions except PC, I just wanted to see how the game played and looked on the PC... which wasn't too bad, but you couldn't use mouse controls.... still had to use controller or keyboard only.

Well I bought Mass Effect 1 again after I got into ME2.

I also bought Abe's Oddysee twice after I got it the first time as a kid. One from a used game and DVD store, the second time via the PSN because I had to get a new PS3 due to the older one breaking down with my copy of the game still in it. I also bought Abe's Exoddus and Stranger's Wrath both via download through the PSN.

Also, I bought the Ico collection, which included Shadow of the Colossus, so I technically own two copies of the game. :)

That's all I can think of at the top of my head.

The only games I've bought double have been GTA IV and Portal. I bought them for PC when I sold my Xbox (though Portal was free on Steam at the time).
I also own a PC and PS3 copy of Oblivion, but the PC is mine and the PS3 is my sister's and we don't usually use each other's systems.

Had to buy Starcraft and Brood War again because my Blizzard account was compromised.

Bought Mass Effect twice. Once on disc, which I found unplayably buggy, and once through Steam when it was on sale for pennies, in the vain hope that a fully digital, fully updated copy might work. Nope.

Got Doom II and Doom 3 again when I bought the id Super Pack during one of those insane Steam Christmas sales.

Bought Final Fantasy VII again on PSN.

Got several Valve games again because they came packaged with new games: Portal, Team Fortress 2 (back when you had to buy it), Half-Life 2, and probably a couple more. Not sure that counts as they weren't bought so much as free with purchase of other product.

Naturally I have bought games for other people that I also bought for myself. Also don't think that counts.
