Have you ever reported someone?

I report anything and everything I feel gets even vaguely close to breaking the rules.

That way I feel like moderators might have a better idea of the offending record of members. So that they know that Troll #33125 hasn't only been a huge dick this one time, but in fact he/she's been a slight douchebag on several occasions beforehand.

I assume talking about holes in the system and then getting hit with suspicion and being talked down too is the kind of good will I can expect?

I've pressed the report button. Never for an insult, or a difference of opinion. Only ever when someone has made a thread that has very literally no discussion value.

Sooo... what *is* stopping me from reporting every single post in this thread and flooding the queue? I guess I could even make a second account and report them all twice so they get flagged as offensive.

As mods we use our own discretion when it comes to dealing with any given post. Hitting the report button doesn't necessarily mean we'll do anything with it, simply that it is brought to our attention. Creating a second account for that is shadow puppetry. We don't like that very much, not at all.

Reporting someone for kicking the guidelines in the face isn't dobbing, it's more like pointing out a stain on the wall to an all-powerful demigod janitor.
