That's a pity, here in Ireland it would be tough to find anyone offended by that video or gayness in general.

A certain openly gay artist did a routine on some show with overtly sexual dancing and a same-sex kiss. The studio was pretty much "shocked and appalled" that he would do something like that on stage and canceled a following performance. There was a huge controversy over if children saw and whether or not the network was being homophobic. Never mind all the overtly heterosexual dance moves from that same performance, people focused on the gay ones. Absolutely ridiculous.

I'm waiting on the stories questioning whether or not the video should be changed to require adult verification or be on YouTube at all.

At which note, I'd like to say I hate the word "Pop".

That word sounds horrible, it sounds immature, it by definition means "Something popular". That's not a genre. That's called a marketing success. Would you call Star Wars a "Pop" film as it's genre? No, because it's a sci-fi.

A good majority of what is called "Pop" music today is disco-electronic, hip-hop or country, or any combination of the three. You call them by their true classification rather than just some generalisation that is symphonimous with "bad and shallow", or I WILL get you. In your sleep.

If you are a muscian, and you classify your genre as "Pop", you will be severely burned if I meet you. Srsly.

Warning, if awesome choreography and barely dressed men bother you, then this video probably won't be your style. It's probably not safe for work either, but considering how massive of a pop culture phenomenon she has become, I think it warrants discussion.


Personally, I love it. I am surprised by how political she made it (and also by the complete lack of brand advertising), but either way, I think she's going to both piss off a lot of close-minded people and make a lot of fun people happy

It's like Lady Gaga had a check list of things Madonna did in the 80's and 90's to get attention and used them.
Dancing sexually with a bunch of guys? Check.
Religous symbols used in a way that could offend people? Check.

Gaga is the vanguard of a new way of conceiving music, mostly I listen to Emperor, Burzum, or even the classics like (my fav) Rolling Stones and Alice Cooper. Still, I can't help but feel like Lady gaga is the future, the girl is furious, I downright love her, she's the new generation of rock, she has the spirit of rock within her; and now ok little kids, complain as much as you will, but rock n' roll is first and foremost MERCHANDISE, it's all about the looks and the attitude, and the girl has all those requisites

yea, i dunno if you've picked the right audience to unleash this woman upon. this is a forum of video gamers and mostly metal fans (from what I've seen).

I didn't watch it because I hate her and still don't know if she's a man or not. And, I find her to be pretty sexy so I'm just going to ignore her in case she is a he.

There seems to be enough information about her right now to disprove the rumors of "her" being a crossdresser. Hermaphrodite is still vaguely possible, but unlikely. Wikipedia seems to be fairly accurate by what everyone else is saying as well.

Truthfully she reminds me a lot of Madonna in her ealier days, and I liked Madonna to begin with.

Ok, the choreography didn't look very good to me. It was clunky and awkward. Slightly reminiscent of a homo-erotic haka.

The video is massively clichéd and she's trying very hard to be "random". The part where she's removing one side of her goggles at a time made me laugh, I have no idea what she was trying to do there.

The violin at the beginning is very nice but I think I recognise it from somewhere else, I'm no classical aficionado but if it's been used in symphonic metal or Vanessa Mae I'll have at least heard it before.

I think she misunderstood the "Sex sells" motif of marketing, it has to be something attractive, that we'd want to have sex with, not some blank faced men squirming? ...yes that's the best word for it. While I think Lady Gaga can look quite attractive she doesn't in this.

The most important complaint: what the fuck was it about!? The lyrics seem to leap all over the place, and I certainly can't see any narrative in the music video.

Anyhow, all I took from that was gun boobs, really? Don't go attaching my precious weapons to your inny and outty bits, I needs them for ma explosions and stuffz.

Also, where those guys meant to be SS, I ask because of the red arm bands. If so, what would be the point beyond abit of shock. Shock that didn't even shock.

Still, good song even if the video was just weird for the sake of weird.

I love Lady Gaga and I've been playing games on more systems and longer than probably the majority of the kids here. Is that also crazy to believe?

OT:

Never really been a fan of her videos, and this one is no different.

While some of the choreography is quite nice, the fact that its practically porn is a bit of a turn off for me.

My personal opinion is that if you can't make a music video without over-saturating it with sex, don't bother calling it music video at all, call it what it is, softcore porn set to music.

Spoiler: On a seperate note, here's what MUSIC VIDEOS looks like, not a choreography video or a porno...

Even in this last video, where the song is about a guy talking about getting laid, the only sexual imagery is a fat cat in a dress.
