Well, Greg, when a boy and a girl love each other very much, and when they've had a few swigs directly from the bottle of Wild Turkey, and when the girl's not quite thinking straight and the boy promises he'll pull out, no really I mean it, then the boy says

"Sup dawg, so I herd u didnt liek making babby but I accidentally in your base",

then nine months later a little bundle of joy comes out and hey, FUCK YOU BRETT FAVRE! DAMMIT! GET DADDY ANOTHER BEER!

WTF!?!?! i was told it was a goddamn stork!!!! those liars!!!!!

Ok. That sounds nice, but I don't know what to think about Heavy Rain. Sure they talk all about the thoughts going into it, but I want to see how it all comes across in the game. Will it be engaging enough to actually work?

I've heard this stuff before, and it never acurately reflects how the game is played. A case in point is moral choice systems where it sounds good in press releases, but no game has really pulled it off. Emersion is where Heavy Rain will stand or fall. If we don't care than all this subtle drama will be worth shit, and you'll be left with a game they forgot to make.

Yeah, it may not be intended as porn.

But I bet someone will still get a boner while playing it.

I'm not goign to dive too deep into the discussion about sex in video games. Basically my thoughts are: If its tastful and not just there to get a few bewabge points I'm all for it, its somtimes nice to see an emotional peak to a building relationship (kind of like in Mass Effect). That being said I hope they don't do the Indigo Prophecy thing of having the two really get to know each other for liek two days and then have them go at it.

On a side note, this game looks really cool, makes me kind of wish I a PS3 I could play it on.

isn't this the game that made everyone shit a brick about the uncanny valley like more than halfa year ago?

Anyway, it looks interesting, regardless of the sex.

Gah, this is a bit off topic. But why does the person on the boxart have such a freakishly thin waist and broad shoulders? Looks like she's going to snap.

On topic. I feel that it's trying to get attention with all the adult scenes, and whatnot.

Im kind of intrested to see how that will be implemented...In Farenheit (Indigo Prophecy to you in the US), they tried doing 'Love' and it just seemed like an impromptu reason to do a scene similar to that of Mass Effect...
Except waaaaay more explicit.
With necrophilic undertones...

Indigo Prophecy was interesting and at times captivating, but its play mechanics aren't exactly what I'd call "entertaining" or "fun". Much in the same way I can't watch 'Requiem For A Dream' and say I "enjoyed" watching it. Doesn't make it a bad movie at all; quite the opposite. Heavy Rain appears to be heading down that road.

So it's a glorified "Choose your own Adventure" book then?
Yeah, but with sex.
OT: I would love a game that actually can hold its own when judged as art. To have a game manipulate emotions the way a first-class movie would could, at the very least, be used as ammo in "games are art" arguments, and at the most it could revolutionize entertainment.
I'm not sure gamers will care about this "love" thing though.

So no porn?

Well, the Xbox360 was the right choice then.
Joking or not, it's kind of sad that you make this decision on wank material...

I'm extremely excited for Heavy Rain, I hope that it fulfills Quantic Dream's expectations and more. If they can show "love" in a mature, adult manner than it could very well be damn revolutionary. Though I suppose I'm exaggerating, I'm still heavily excited for Heavy Rain.
