I definitely applaud the concept. I'm not sure it's for me, but then again it might be. I had more fun progressing the story in games like Mass Effect than any of the action game play elements. I really liked the story in HL1 and HL2, even though the running, jumping & shooting were the primary mechanics.

If I had a PS3, I'd give this game a rental at least.

I totally agree: he just needs to make a damn good game; he needs to stop acting like he's some sort of messiah, here to show us what we've all been missing.

I don't want to be a jerk buuut he did make a damn good game. Well, not exactly a good "game", but I think that the guy definitely knows what he is doing with Heavy Rain.
Although I am afraid of them implementing QTEs up the arse.

While I've never bought a game for it's cleavage content as I agree with you that would be asinine (not to mention a waste of money), I will do a double take if the situation warrants one and make no excuse to the contrary. "Did somebody say tits?"

It seems this "game" is more like some of the Japanese "Dating Sims" out there. No real gameplay, just click away through the various dialogue options and bed one of the many girls available. The only discernable difference so far is that Heavy Rain appears to have better graphics.

Being adults means one night stands, adultery, murder, guns, feeling sorry when someone gets shot, and nudity. I think labeling Heavy Rain as being ?adult? doesn?t conjure up thoughts of sophistication but rather porn, and how advanced can a game sound when it?s described with a word associated with porn?

So their going for that arthouse-y feeling of sex that many indie movie makers try and go for? It seems to me that they are trying to walk a very fine line between sensuality and erotica. Its all going to be a moot point when you realize that someone, somewhere, will be wanking to it, as rule 34 has already proved.

Laugh if you want, but I'd think it would be awesome to have an RPG where as an option you could say raid a ship on the high seas, kidnap a princess, make her your sex slave, and have her fall in love with you (and perhaps mutually which may or may not be stated). Sort of a Tarl Cabot/Conan type fantasy that just wouldn't work in real life, but can be made to work in fantasy.

Please don't compare John Norman to Robert E. Howard.
