it makes me sad to see the rifles being so powerful for anything but a head shot, but otherwise the game looks pretty awesome. I hope it ends up like stalker with zombies, the electric machette kinda bothered me tho...

also did anyone notice he sounded like he was saying fleshlight every time he said flashlight?

This game just moved up to the top of my "Must Own" list, along with SkyRim, Knights of the Old REpublic, Arkham City, and whatever movie tie-in game comes out when Conan does (because I'm a huge Conan fan and I don't care if the game plays like an updated version of "Aquaman" I'm going to own it because there aren't enough Conan games out there.)

I do find it humorous how there are so many poo poos and complaints because they didnt turn this into another by the numbers, virtual knockoff of every George Romero zombie film we've ALREADY seen or played before. Shoot hordes of zombies in yet another "oh shit it's the end of the world, try to survive while running from point A to point B against the living dead" doesn't interest me. Something DIFFERENT interests me.

THIS is something different.
Otherwise, the zombie game genre me its end with Left 4 Dead 2 and Dead Rising 2. Time to bury it, because it's just boring now.

If this gets across the Australian border without being pacified, I think I'm going to enjoy this game a lot.

It looks very impressive. The only niggle I can see becoming a problem is the one-liners becoming repetitious. Even in the video I heard the phrase "I set you FREE!" at least three times.

I must say the whole weapon names thing and electric machetes etc does seem a bit out of place in this game. I can understand spiky baseball bats and stuff but somehow making a blade electric? Odd.

I wanted a Dawn of the Dead style game, not -insert mass-zombie killing movie here- game!

I've lost all interested, why bother with this when I have Left 4 Dead?
[sub]Yes story I know![/sub]

I gotta admit, I'm still on the fence with this game but Emperor willing the controls witll be good and hopefully the story won't be pants on head stupid and I'll be able to enjoy it. But as of now I might get it just simply because I haven't played the Left 4 Dead games since I have a PS3.

I don't get all the complaining here. The game looks like a lot of fun. When did people start hating the idea of fun?

This doesn't really look like L4D at all. Left 4 Dead is a linear shooter or a team-based multiplayer game. This looks much more open.

It kind if reminds me of Far Cry 2, but with zombies instead of Africans, which is a step in the right direction. Although, comparisons are a little pointless right now since I haven't seen the full game, that's just the first thing that popped into my mind since you can drive in Far Cry 2.

That aside, this looks like something I could definitely get into. As far as story goes, I would think this is the best example of "less is more", the less you explain how this happened and why the more interesting it'll be. There can be some subtle hints, but really, do you need a story in a zombie game?

It's pretty straightforward; there be zombies, kill them dead.

I don't really get why people are comparing this to other zombie games. If anything, I'm getting more of a Dark Messiah-ish vibe off this game (though it also had zombies at some point). Besides, a completely open-end zombie rpg with more realism and no crappy time limits, I'm totally there.

Massively dissapointed. How far away from the spectacular debut trailer do they want to take this game?

What could have been something truly emotive and engaging is basically borderlands with zombies.

What a waste.

I know this is no Crysis but GODDAAAYUM, look at the tech! Fantastic lighting and massive draw distance! I want this now!

EDIT: Also, I thought the dev walking us through the vid was fantastic in as Hans Gruber in Die Hard.

It looks pretty good. I don't like the how to fatigue bar is displayed though. It sticks out and I think it could be a bit better presented.

I am greatly impressed; shows a lot of potential. I'll probably end up getting this, thought that was already more or less a given. ;D

Looks like a surprisingly good game, they've really pinpointed the experience they wanted and just went with it, trimming out what isn't going to be fun in the end. Admirable design work, I must say. I'll never get to play this sick murder simulator/terrorist weapon, but I'm betting the rest of the world's gonna love it.

Melee weapons? Huh. Well, I hope everyone outside Australia has fun with this game.
Importing powers activate! Form of an AWESOME Zombie game!

OT: I am in awe of this entire video and I will be one the the first people to hop onto the island and run amok while basking in the bloody glory. I just hope the multiplayer is up to snuff with the rest of the game. Now to decide which system to buy it on...

Sorry if I gave away the wrong message, I meant that if I wanted a fun Co-Op experience I would have simply played Left 4 Dead. I am not convinced that the reason this game is awesome is enough to make it a game I'd rather play than Left 4 Dead.
