Importing powers activate! Form of an AWESOME Zombie game!LawlessSquirrel said:Looks like a surprisingly good game, they've really pinpointed the experience they wanted and just went with it, trimming out what isn't going to be fun in the end. Admirable design work, I must say. I'll never get to play this sick murder simulator/terrorist weapon, but I'm betting the rest of the world's gonna love it.
In summary:Andronicus said:Melee weapons? Huh. Well, I hope everyone outside Australia has fun with this game.
Sorry if I gave away the wrong message, I meant that if I wanted a fun Co-Op experience I would have simply played Left 4 Dead. I am not convinced that the reason this game is awesome is enough to make it a game I'd rather play than Left 4 Dead.BloodSquirrel said:This doesn't really look like L4D at all. Left 4 Dead is a linear shooter or a team-based multiplayer game. This looks much more open.Nouw said:I wanted a Dawn of the Dead style game, not -insert mass-zombie killing movie here- game!
I've lost all interested, why bother with this when I have Left 4 Dead?
[sub]Yes story I know![/sub]
I still have hope. I like the idea of having the character's response to zombies change over time, though. Gordon Freeman did always seem to take the scary monsters far too well. Also, I always enjoy multiplayer. It might fall apart because it's trying to be deadly serious while still including achievements (with puns) and leveling and such, but then again it might work. I didn't want to be too optimistic off of just the first trailer, and now I don't want to be too pessimistic either.JokerboyJordan said:I just posted what I felt about this in a different thread >_<Sober Thal said:Yep. Less silly weapon crafting / killing of hordes, more survival horror.Exterminas said:Sober Thal said:Where the hell is my dark, atmospheric zombie game?!
Damn you all, I hope you get infected with the T virus!
Oh well, the bastard child of Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising will have some fans I guess.
EDIT: Why can't I get a bastard child of Amnesia and Resident Evil???
However, maybe I got you wrong. Maybe you are implying a more resource-based zombie game, where you can't just mow down the zombies but instead have to hide and avoid them, like "combat" worked in amnesia.
Though this was the general gist of what was said.
Get rid of the HUD and the one liners, add more zombies and realism.
Melee weapons are MORE censored than guns...?Andronicus said:Melee weapons? Huh. Well, I hope everyone outside Australia has fun with this game.
Read this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/94836-Left-4-Dead-2-Ban-Surprised-Saddened-Valve]. Basically, using melee weapons makes the gore and violence that much more personal and confronting, according to the OFLC, Australia's classification board. This is why Australia got the special super happy funtimes edition of L4D2, with no gore and bodies that pop out of existence, lest the gamer be driven to insanity be the sight of motionless pixels in the shape of a zombie lying on the ground.Hexenwolf said:Melee weapons are MORE censored than guns...?Andronicus said:Melee weapons? Can't have a good zombie game without a good Katana!Dr. Harvey C. Clay said:I will be vary disappointed if there isn?t a katana somewhere in this game.
Yes, isn't there is just something wonderful about cutting a horde of shambling ghouls into a quivering mass of limbs and gore with a katana.Saucycardog said:Can't have a good zombie game without a good Katana!Dr. Harvey C.
