I know this is no Crysis but GODDAAAYUM, look at the tech! Fantastic lighting and massive draw distance! I want this now!

EDIT: Also, I thought the dev walking us through the vid was fantastic in as Hans Gruber in Die Hard.

It looks pretty good. I don't like the how to fatigue bar is displayed though. It sticks out and I think it could be a bit better presented.

I am greatly impressed; shows a lot of potential. I'll probably end up getting this, thought that was already more or less a given. ;D

Looks like a surprisingly good game, they've really pinpointed the experience they wanted and just went with it, trimming out what isn't going to be fun in the end. Admirable design work, I must say. I'll never get to play this sick murder simulator/terrorist weapon, but I'm betting the rest of the world's gonna love it.

Melee weapons? Huh. Well, I hope everyone outside Australia has fun with this game.
Importing powers activate! Form of an AWESOME Zombie game!

OT: I am in awe of this entire video and I will be one the the first people to hop onto the island and run amok while basking in the bloody glory. I just hope the multiplayer is up to snuff with the rest of the game. Now to decide which system to buy it on...

This looks like Far Cry 2 with zombies.
I'm getting this on release, assuming it dosen't get banned in Australia.

I wanted a Dawn of the Dead style game, not -insert mass-zombie killing movie here- game!

I've lost all interested, why bother with this when I have Left 4 Dead?
[sub]Yes story I know![/sub]
This doesn't really look like L4D at all. Left 4 Dead is a linear shooter or a team-based multiplayer game. This looks much more open.
Sorry if I gave away the wrong message, I meant that if I wanted a fun Co-Op experience I would have simply played Left 4 Dead. I am not convinced that the reason this game is awesome is enough to make it a game I'd rather play than Left 4 Dead.

The Diablo style weapons are what really interest me.

Shock Machete of Padding?
Delicate Bleeding Bat?

I just hope there's a "Burning Hockey Stick of Chaos"

Where the hell is my dark, atmospheric zombie game?!

Damn you all, I hope you get infected with the T virus!

Oh well, the bastard child of Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising will have some fans I guess.

EDIT: Why can't I get a bastard child of Amnesia and Resident Evil???

However, maybe I got you wrong. Maybe you are implying a more resource-based zombie game, where you can't just mow down the zombies but instead have to hide and avoid them, like "combat" worked in amnesia.
Yep. Less silly weapon crafting / killing of hordes, more survival horror.
I just posted what I felt about this in a different thread >_<
Though this was the general gist of what was said.

Get rid of the HUD and the one liners, add more zombies and realism.
I still have hope. I like the idea of having the character's response to zombies change over time, though. Gordon Freeman did always seem to take the scary monsters far too well. Also, I always enjoy multiplayer. It might fall apart because it's trying to be deadly serious while still including achievements (with puns) and leveling and such, but then again it might work. I didn't want to be too optimistic off of just the first trailer, and now I don't want to be too pessimistic either.

Melee weapons are MORE censored than guns...?
Read this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/94836-Left-4-Dead-2-Ban-Surprised-Saddened-Valve]. Basically, using melee weapons makes the gore and violence that much more personal and confronting, according to the OFLC, Australia's classification board. This is why Australia got the special super happy funtimes edition of L4D2, with no gore and bodies that pop out of existence, lest the gamer be driven to insanity be the sight of motionless pixels in the shape of a zombie lying on the ground.

Yes, isn't there is just something wonderful about cutting a horde of shambling ghouls into a quivering mass of limbs and gore with a katana.

This looks really exciting! Can't wait to play now. The first trailer was great, but not very informative. If they can keep the storytelling of the first trailer throughout the game that will really be something.

Meh...from such a sad, somber, game trailer to....game you can't just bring me to tears game and then turn into supery zaney zombie kasplow.

...I think I'll pass.
