Jesus actually looks slightly more like an Arab in the 'restored' image.

I'm reminded of that scene in the original Robocop where one of the baddies drives into a vat of toxic waste and his skin falls off. In the latter part of it where his face is melting off the side of his head and he goes "HELP MEEEEEE" he sortof resembles Jesus in the restored version.

So she stole a painting and vandalized it? I hope sh gets whatever the max sentence is for her crime in Spain. And I do not care that she had good motives for it or that she is elderly. Theft no matter the reason (well unless its to save someone's life and it works) should never be tolerated no matter who does it.

You read one article, posted in a forum, and condemn a stranger to "whatever the max sentence is"? Wow, dude. There's things like perspective, bias, knowing the whole story, not being a huge meanie lol.

As for her fate and punishment. Best to be clear it is a crime, plenty of these paintings around. Easy to be overzealous and call for her sacrifice to the art gods (overseen by the hidden art critic cabal obviously).

Agreed two people above. I think this giant fuck-up has the potential to bring humanity together. We can all learn something from this.

It should also tour the world, so that the well meaning can understand, don't mess with restoring art if you have no idea what you are doing.
