Literally every hero who has ever said "I'm not going to kill you because then I'd be just like you" or anyone who gunned down 1000 faceless mooks only to let the final boss walk away. Special mention goes to Ezio from Assassin's Creed 2 because HE WAS THE REASON FOR ALL OF THIS AND YOU'RE AN ASSASSIN. KILL HIM!

I don't get it - it's wrong to kill the guy responsible for all the bad stuff, but everyone he hired is fair game? Are you insane? Once you start mass murdering everyone it's a bit too late to show mercy - you're not trying to prove a point, otherwise you'd have spared everyone. You're trying to kill the bad guy. So KILL HIM.

I wouldn't call him a hero but Walt from Breaking Bad, there have been many times I think he is just a moronic asshole.
He's such a fucking idiot sometimes especially when

He wants to shoot his boss and asks Mike to help him. "You're both on his payroll!" I yelled. Walt really hates any form of authority. Another thing I notice was that he requires constant validation from others, though that's off topic.

Most of the time I consider the hero an idiot. They just do some of the most retarded stuff all the time.

But especially Qui-gon Booze. Wait, no especially Yoda. Wait, no, especially Anakin. Wait, no! Especi- ...okay yes, every single one. Fuck.

But you have to admit. Palpatine did alright for himself. Maybe the Dark Side of the Force makes people in the near vicinity stupider or something. ...why am I making excuses for these films again? I'm agreeing with you.

That one scene in Spec Ops: The line.

The thing with the white phosphorus. A retarded child could have told you that the ditch was full of clearly unarmed people that were not moving, yet you can't go on from that part until you've killed everyone in it (apparently it was also apparently full of oil or something that made the entire thing light on fire, but w/e.)

It's kind of hard to feel sorry for him when he goes "OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE????" when there was abso-fucking-lutely nothing ambiguous about what he was doing.

"What? That pit full of civilians was full of civilians? HOW COULD I HAVE KNNNOOOWWWNNN?????"

Eat shit, protagonist.

Someone mentioned I Am Legend?

The problem with that film (OK, yes, there are many many MANY fucking problems with it) isn't that they had the tacked on 'happy ending' in place of the 'original' one where he survived, its that the ending of the book was entirely ignored in the first place.

Actually, fuck that, its that THE ENTIRE FUCKING BOOK was ignored in the first place. Yes, I get that they wanted to modernise it and everything, but they could have done that oh so very easily without changing the vampires into mostly mindless zombies. The ending of the book was pretty much perfect. It does not, however, leave any kind of room for a possible sequel, which will be the main reason why the producers totally ignored it.

Probably Ned Stark, from Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire. I mean, seriously? I would have had Littlefinger stabbed in the back at the first opportunity and that's without the benefit of hindsight.

Will Smith's character in I Am Legend. All very noble sacrificing yourself for the women and child, however I'm sure having you and the cure together would have a lot more useful to the scientists who will now be working on mass producing it. Making your life alot more valuable in the grand scheme of things. I imagine the scientists will have had to spend alot of time reverse engineering the cure in order to recreate it, where as if he was still alive they could probably started mass producing the cure right away. Maybe a little picky but that has always bug me in that film.
If it makes you feel any better, that was actually the re-done and retarded ending. The original ending, which is basically Smith's character realizing the "vampires" were sapient and just trying to get their friends/family back after he kidnaps them, was pulled after test screening audiences didn't like it.

Everyone in Prometheus (A really good but flawed movie) was a moron. For example, one of the characters, a "biologist" sees a new alien creature thingie worm. If you were a biologist, and you found a brand new, completely alien lifeform, what was the first thing you do? If you actually studied your field, you would take notes about its appearance and behavior, maybe snap a few pictures. This moron

<spoiler=Spoiler induced stupidity for Prometheus>decided it would not only be a good idea to get in close, but directly talk to and even attempt to touch it! No wonder he managed to get himself killed and eaten by it. Also, why did the robot dude whose name I forget give Male Love Interest the diseased filled drink? Was it FOR SCIENCE!?

I was going to tell you about the orriginal, fateful ending, but this guy said it best:

Thanks for the copypasta! Plus, nice Avatar. Reminds me of There Will Be Brawl. Ah, good times.

Andrew Wiggim (aka Ender) various times through out the entire Ender saga, and Bean as well. Peter if you want to call him a hero. Anywho...

I despise whiny heroes. They frustrate me beyond belief. I mean yes, it's fine to vent your problems but if your whole character is based upon it... It just becomes annoying.

Nearly every slasher movie I've ever seen.
In order to drive the plot towards more murder/gore/jump scares/etc., someone has to do something that no one in their right mind would ever even CONSIDER. These include (but are not limited to):

*Walking around in the dark when you know for a FACT that a murderer is there
*Not calling 911 immediately (the phone line is cut, occasionally)
*Venturing to places that no one would want to go for the sake of "fun"
*Not listening to the one sensible person, dismissing their logical concern
*Hiding in extremely obvious places, like a closet
*Not making "FIND A GUN" their #1 priority
*Not leaving as soon as things start to get suspicious
*Constantly screaming loudly, in order to give away their position
*Immediately dismissing the killer as "dead" once they temporarily incapacitate him

Maybe the Slasher genre is just intentionally filled with a bunch of empty-skulled protagonists, so we don't feel bad when they inevitably get picked off. But then, somehow, some idiot manages to actually beat the supernatural killing machine. Why not just have everyone get killed? Isn't that what the audience would rather see? You've set up the movie so that we hate the protagonists and love the villain, and then you try to switch it around at the very last minute.
When you watch a Friday the 13th movie, what do you want to see? A bunch of idiot teenagers goofing off for an hour and 30 minutes, or Jason Vorhees? Sometimes I get the impression that the directors are asking the exact same question... except they mean it.

There was a book once where the heroes ended up fighting since one went evil. His reasoning was that since magic was based on balance and the demons were destroyed last book that someone had to go evil to keep the world in balance. I stopped there and thought, "man they let some really stupid people become mages".

Most shounen protagonists and about 90% of the characters in Prometheus. For those who have seen this anime, however this guy deserves a life-time achievement award:

P.S. The anime is Gankutsuou

Final Fantasy Tactics

At one point, Ramza gives away his two Zodiac stones to his sister, "just in case". Cue him slicing his way through the subsequent battles by virtue of being the hero, and his sister is then kidnapped.

He pretty much traded the Mcguffins for the Idiot Ball that time.

Really? I only found him that way during Hanako's and Rin's stories...and the only time I yelled "you idiot" was during the latter. Otherwise, he's a pretty friendly guy trying to get used to his new life situation, who's biggest problem with social interaction is oversensitivity in trying not to overstep any bounds or cause offense.

Granted, I never got any of the bad endings, so I know he has the potential to be a complete dumbass, but I kept him from making any game-ending mistakes.

...'cept during the manly picnic, of course.

Fox's decision to kill everyone on the room including herself, in Wanted..

Every Hero who thinks they can "change/save" the villian if they just let them live..
