Correct. Most of it better than this video.

this is just devs knowing this and using it whats wrong with that.
They are using sex and sexuality to market a game that isn't about sex or sexuality. They are giving the boot to an even larger part of Greek mythology to do it (more than they already are, that is) and the scene does not add to the gameplay, story, overall polish or the end value to those gamers who happen not to be 'in need of it'. ANd creating this scene cost time and money, which could have been used to improve one of the aforementioned aspects of the game.

The reason I'm griping about this is that it leads to a worse product than what it would have been without it and no one seems to give a damn because they are distracted by Teh Jubblies.
How do you know this will lead to a worse product? Have you played it all? They wouldn't have the entire damn team work on this. You're making it sound like all other production halted for weeks while they perfected this scene.
Of course not I haven't played it. But when operating within limited constraints, using the resources you are given for anything but the core product, the core product automatically fails to achieve it's full potential.

Because the scene was created, this represents time and money within the development budget and timetable that was not used to improve God Of War III - when I have zero wish to see a second rate sex scene in a game about violent blooshedding and carving up your enemies, to me as an end user those resources were wasted. It would have been better if the persons who did this scene had used the time and money to go on a vacation instead: no work that matters still would have gotten done, but at least they might have been more relaxed and productive the following few days.

It's like were about to be delivered a console and have just been told that the console comes in a pink quadruple-layered package with gold-gilitter on the surface and LED-lights on the carrying handle of the package. Everyone is going 'This has been done before, why are you complaining' or 'Gold glitter and unnecessary shiny bits! Shut up your whining' when I'm saying that 'People, this all represents money that didn't go into making the product itself! Because you got the pink wrapping and gold glitter, the console is not as good as it could have been!' and several people are bashing me for this and calling me whiny.

I sometimes seriously fail to understand the general UHHH SHINY! syndrome my fellow gamers seem to have: to accept an inferior product or a product that isn't as good as it could have been, just to get some fan-service and gold glitter on the packaging.

To clarify things further: I would be equally ranty if the scene was about Kratos making gooey faces to a child and the QTEs about making said child laugh. Or alternative if the scene was absolute harcore beastiality featuring Kratos, the Cerberus and a horde of Pegasi. The content of the scene, as it does not improve the gameplay, characters or story, is secondary to my complaints. The fact that it is sex simply makes it easier for people to ignore what I'm complaining about and see this all as being opposed to showing sex in general.
I can see your point, but I think you're taking it a little too far. The idea that the inclusion of this scene is going to have a noticeably negative impact on the gameplay and general polish is one I can't agree with.

Besides, there are likely people who believe that this kind of ridiculous, fairly awkward sex scene is a staple of the series having been included in all iterations of it. It's like a tradition, it almost wouldn't be a God of War game without it. Sure, it's not necassary, but it's fun, and amount of time and money spent on it would more than likely not be enough to make any real improvements had they not included it.

*sigh*

the collective IQ mankind has apparently dropped another dozen or so points since the last time I looked.

Indeed, what is the point? Besides to use digital lesbians and rendered breasts to make a ludicrous amount of money more than what GoW III would have already made. Honestly, I feel ashamed by association to belong to the male side of humanity, because I know not just one, or two, but several cpies of the game will be sold based on that alone.

Just when I was hoping that humanity might have some hope after all... But no, implication of sex and a poor female actor voicing some uuhs and aahhs is still a surefire way to make bucketloads of money from gamers.
The IQ of the entire mankind has been lowerd because of a sex scene? How is that possible?
Men have always been this dumb when it comes to sex. Higher brain functions click off when women enter the picture. A brilliant scientist can be a drooling idiot when it comes to boobies.

If you screw up the quicktime event, do the girls cringe and look disappointed, while Kratos bellows excuses about how it's been a long time?
Hardly likely. Kratos is a man who excuse himself to no one.

I mean, how could your masculinity EVER come in question when you just ripped the friggin' eyeball out of the head of a cyclops yesterday, even if you happen to give some lousy sex the next day after? :p

Kratos is probably one of the few characters (aside from Chuck Norris of course) who could pull of wearing high-heels and a balldress and still make it into something badass. He is after all. already wearing a skirt. XD
Actually, yes they do. GT has the 'failure' video.

It's title is "minute man".

Does Kratos actually excuse his lack of ability in the video? If so, then the developers are being highly inconsistent with the character. Not something one could blame Kratos for really, it's the developers who can't get the details straight. :p

Wow. Just wow. How could anybody find this scene sexy in the least? I love breasts, don't get me wrong, but this is just stupid. I'm sorry but this is just another reason for me to skip the God of War series.

I wasn't ribbing directly on you, just commenting that a lot of people aren't aware that there's another GoW game out there. Probably because I'm one of the only twenty people who own a PSP. Sorry if you took it that way.

That was...pretty hilariously horrible. I'm not even complaining because it was a sex scene, I'm complaining because it was such a poorly voiced and ludicrously overacted piece of fanservice. I spent the duration of clip simultaneously facepalming and laughing my ass off. It's just so ridiculously forced, so un-sexy, screaming "LOOK POLYGONAL BOOBIES" and serving absolutely no other purpose.

Also, Kratos sure got his pants off quickly.

Even by porn standards that sex scene is increadibly cheezy lol.

Now how many teenagers across the world will be playing that game when their mother, due to sods law, comes into the room during the lesbian sex scene? Its gona happen alright.

*facepalm* o_O
This game is going to be as generic and boring as the previous ones in the series, and on top of that it's going to make a fortune on this scene alone purely for the nudity factor, and the "controversy" factor.
That really shits me... It's scenes like this in any game that sets us Australians 4 years backward in the possibility of acquiring an R 18+ rating.

At least (imo) the sex scene in Mass effect, even though you didn't see anything was done tastefully, and I'm not ashamed to say I found it pretty damn erotic. My Love Interest was Liara btw.

But.........BOOBS. Several of them!

Alright so it's shallow, a bit weird and kind of pointless. And it might help to sell a few copies. But so what? It's just another aspect of the game people want, right?

Or people are simply very horny.

Mass Effect's sex scene was something that tied directly to the story, being the culmination of the optional romantic sideplot. It definitely had meaning for all characters involved, it was not excessively overacted, and the nudity was mild yet suggestive. Bioware did it right. This is just a cheap attempt at giving some lonely high-schooler a boner by having random bystanders with absolutely no effect on the narrative wave their tits around while the screen shakes. It's unintentionally funny, but it's not erotic and certainly not necessary.

Sorry, but I think you're being a bit too presumptuous and premature. Mr. Funk pointed out that the scene is taken out of context. Before you make this claim that it adds nothing to the story I think you might want to actually wait until it becomes clear just what this scenes context within the game is.

Anybody ever watch a show called Sparticus: Blood on Sand? well, its basically just this, spread out throughout the entire show, with the exception of some violence thrown in there
but yeah, appearently back then, sex was just as popular as it is today...

That is one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. I love when video games(or any form of media) don't take themselves too seriously. Whoever wrote the dialogue should be awarded.

... Oh, and the nudity was nice, I suppose.

Umm, a bit pointless if you ask me.
I mean, there are games that at least build up the relationships between the characters before such scenes like Mass Effect or Heavy Rain (yes, I won't shut up about this game, don't even bother). And then there is this.
Okay, it's outta context but the scene just screams "Hey! LESBIANS!".
I failed to see the "point".
What was the point you ask?

"Hey! LESBIANS!"

That was the point and for some inexplicable reason I find it perfectly relevant.
