It depends for me. I always thought it was Me Lee, but then I found out. Now it depends if I remember when discussing about it.

Example:
Me: I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY WE'RE GOING TO PLAY SMASH BROS MELEE (Me lee).

Discussing civily:
Me: Smash Bros Melee (May-Lay) is a good game.

Both ways are correct. U.S. English say May-Lay. U.K. English say Me-Lee.

See: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/melee
I checked, the only pronunciation they show is may-lay. Same with dictionary.com

Considering it's a french word "mêlée" it makes perfect sense.

Meh-lay.

Though there's really only one way to find out how to say it properly. Find the Queen, and force her to say it. That will be the correct pronunciation.
Poor Liz!

Isn't it in fact a French word anyway? There should be be an acute over the second e, no?

Nintendo says it's "May-lay"(or rather MaylAAAYyy), but then again in SSB Melee they did call Samus "Saw-muss." So I don't know what to believe.

May-Lay.

It's stupid, but then again, it's french. Bordeaux which looks like it should be pronounced "Bored-ee-ooh-x is really pronounced Bor-d'oh. The french hate letters, apparently, despite their love of the unused letters. On the other hand, Bordeaux sounds incredibly sexy, so I wouldn't mind if my GF was named that.

Oh, confused thoughts and rambling fingers!
