I recognize a few avatars here and there.

I almost never remember or even look at names unless they are pointed out directly or something like that.

And screw ponies, everytime an avatar is a pony they instantly get filed in my brain under the same person.

That's the only real problem I have with pony avatars - they all look the same, so it becomes so hard to tell the people apart at first glance...

With disdain of course! HAHAHA

Anyhow, I really don't post/creep enough on here to get a feel for how people are. Nor do I recognize a lot of avatars anymore...

Soon as I made an account to start posting on here, BAM! Publishers club and everyone decided to jump ship for some reason...

But other than that an interesting lot. (im fairly sure many around here don't like me in return so its fineeee)
Hey, I recognize you for a very simple reason.
I got the 'on fire' badge today, and was trying to figure out what thread I got it from.
I finally figured out it was my "Do folks recognize you?" thread, which passed 10,000 views yesterday.
(It was the nostalgia this caused that had me make this thread, in fact.)
So when I went to take a look at it, I saw that the last post in the thread was from you. It was posted in march. The last post before yours was posted in december...
Care to explain?

i necro interesting threads that i have posted in before, it makes me sad to see good threads die under the weight of lesser ones.
Ah.
I'll take that as a compliment.

I know how you feel. I do my best to keep "The artist in thee" alive.

I know all. I see all. I hear all. And I judge all. And YOU are fucking disgusting. Yes you, with the hat!

No but seriously, the community here is really nice. And as a result, I try to be nice. Lets all be nice together!

On the whole, I'm not particularly fond of them; some are interesting, or bring up good points of discussion, but most (or at least most of those I remember or notice) are annoying and just complain a lot or act rude or pretentious. I recognize some by avatar or name, even though I kind of wish I didn't. On an somewhat related note, I've been expanding my ignore list a lot recently.

I have one person I consider a friend on here who I like to talk to over private message, but that's about it. Since I don't really look at any of the other features or videos here much anymore, they're the main reason I still hang out here, aside from keeping up with the news, video game related and otherwise, although sometimes the news posts annoy me too (objectivity people! Is that so hard to grasp?).

I'm utterly terrible with names and so I don't recognize anyone with the exception of one person here who frequents 4E Enworld as well. I do recognize Avatars but I can't place them with specific posts so they come across as meaningless.

As a whole, I view fellow escapists a good group of steriotypical 'hardcore' gamers with fanboy tendencies who favor a negative outlook on all things.

The good thing about this place is we can often get some very interesting ideas and conversations from the community as a whole. A lot of posters have a good sense of humour as well.

The bad thing about this is that as a group we are too focused on Bethesda, Valve/Steam and Blizzard being the greatest things ever. EA/Origin being hated regardless of it's actions. The Wii, Facebook gaming, Mobile gaming being shoved aside as though we are too good to acknowledge their achievements.

You all seem very empiric in your way of thinking, as if you all draw water sciences well. Even the arty ones seem to have very systematic thoughts grounded more in an enlightened way of thinking rather than the metaphysical or romantic from whence the majority of my thoughts take shape.

Of course thats good, but by enlarge it means eveyone neglects the titans of the art world asuming they are all pretentious wanks like Jeff Kooms and Andy Warhol(to be fair many are).

Also escapists like making lists of what they like.

Also you are all internet people, which as a newcomer makes it sometimes difficult to understand whats going on.

I still struggle with the concept of trolls.

Also i hate this whole grammar nonsense, if it constrains a writer more than it frees them i don't like it. I write like i think, grammar would have my words robbed of that character.

Although some have always thought my approach to grammar was far to loose while some find it refreshingly schizophrenic (but i try restrain myself on the escapist)

Edit: escapists are also generally well versed on their greek philosophers and renaisance artists

There're a lot of avatars users I recognise on the forums.
Usually they're people who post frequently although, every now and again, I'll come across someone who posts something so retarded I'll notice them from then on. Or they post something awesome and I develop an internet crush on them.
I have loads of those.

Soon I shall rise to internet fame.
I just need a higher post count, some cats, a bible and a meme-base related protest sign.

Brace yourself, internet!

I mostly don't even look at people's avatars unless I'm quoting them. Even then I tend to forget what the picture is unless it has boobs in it.

More of you need to have avatars with boobs in. Not just for me. For the community.

But you aren't such a bad bunch on the whole. There are a few exceptions of course, someone already mentioned the goody-goody types who'll post lawful good/family values/respect authority/winners don't use drugs response to almost every thread like they're at the end of a G.I Joe episode. This is only a mild irritant until someone agrees with them.

Then there are the uber right wing types that tend to use the word 'socialist' as an insult. Again, not annoying until someone agrees with them.

Also the paedophile enablers. I'll admit there aren't that many anymore. But a few months ago there was a thread that basically played 'kiss, marry, kill' with fictional characters. I looked in thinking it'd be a good laugh and I saw page after page of anime children. It was pretty upsetting.

But you can find posters like these all over the internet, they're actually in the minority here. That says something about the quality of the forum. Like I said, you're a pretty awesome bunch on the whole.

It's just that more of you need boobs in your avatars. That is all.

I tend to not recognise anyone until I've read enough posts to glean personality from them. Then I tend to recognise them everywhere I go. Everyone else just tends to be background noise.

That said, since the one's I used to recognise a lot have now mostly all moved on, I'm left with a handful of people I recognise but never talk to. It's odd to think I probably remember many of the posts of some of the people in this thread but have almost never spoken to.

I don't actually talk to anyone regularly on this forum anyway so I wouldn't expect to be recognised or remembered for anything in particular 'cept maybe the avatar to be honest. /foreveralone

Jesus fuck! How much do you post?! I've been here since 2008 and I've got less than a fifth of your posts!

Holy heck, I'm not sure whether to feel sorry for you, or give you a hearty pat on the back.

EDIT: That was meant to be a rib-tickler, I'm sorry if it came across as more offensive than intended; I'm pretty fucking drunk - three boilermakers will do that to a guy.

I'm fine with whichever.

Gotta have something to do in my spare time. Foreveralone.jpg and stuff.
Well, I do have more stuff to do now that I've reached legal drinking age (as in, suddenly getting a hold of alcohol doesn't require effort.), but I can't go get drunk every weekend. I'd be broke as shit.
Maybe I should try out those boilermakers. Last time I just did White Russians all night. Did not end well.

I used to post a lot more back in the day.
Now that I've got the Neo I've settled down a bit.
5000 in a year isn't all that impressive though. I remember when I first started to notice Aylaine.
She had 3000 posts after something like 1-3 months.

By the way, didn't you use to have a HAL 3000 avatar or something, or am I confusing you with someone else?

And what are you doing drunk on a monday morning?

The truth hurts.
wow thats a big call (though to be honest I tend to agree to a certian extent)

I notice avatars mostly..and peopel who often post

at best the comunity is civil, nice and makes good conversation....at worst a bunch of nitpicking misanthropic "I wont say what I originally typed"
