I wanted to use a moving avatar, but limitations made me use my brain for once XD Also, "The IT Crowd" might be my favorite series of all time.
Well, with the costumization of the Escapist's avatar system (uploading your own pictures) there's pretty much an infinite amount of pictures to turn into avatars. My guess is that every person on Earth could have five-six different, unique avatars each, and we'd still have images to spare. Not interesting avatars, perhaps, but avatars nonetheless. Case in point, my avatar is a picture of myself.
The topic range here on the Escapist is pretty broad, so you don't see the repeats that would be consistent with sites dedicated solely to one topic. Also, you get a badge simply for setting an avatar, and most people prefer uploading their own to choosing from the selection that Escapist provides.
It pleases me when I see an avatar from something I know. I see yours is actually a monster from the MMO I used to play, Maplestory. It brings back happy memories of my avatar running around in a barrel while I, in real life, laugh at myself being in, well, a barrel. Fun times.Soulgaunt said:
OT: I like having a unique avatar and well known avatar. I didn't make it, I found it on some site for avatars. Most of the avatars there were kinda crap but I really like this one. It's bright, colourful, well-known (Hell, it's Mario related for Pete's sake!) and it occasionally gets friendly comments. It shows my interests and, as far as I've seen, it's not used much, if at all. Plus when I look at it I get reminded of that bit in Family Guy with Randy Newman singing "Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot..." and so on.
I like my Ichimaru Gin avatar, and I tend to keep it a looong time since people seem to know who I am because of it. If I change it, I'll be a nobody again.
because we're all unique and thus different people... with the option of a custom avatar, and most of us dislike copycats, and thus if our avatar gets overused we change it...
I love the chaos people that says: Sanity is for the weak. Thats why The Chaos star, but I have seen another chaos star somewhere here.
Mine is deliciously obscure that there are only a very small number of individuals who would ever get it and I doubt I'd ever get into an e-penis waving match with anyone over it. Been using it for.... Hades, about a decade now.
