How many of you outside of the UK actually want to see the royal wedding?

I'm in the US, Boston area. I don't understand what the big deal is. People get married every day. Just because one of the people in this particular marriage is related to someone important, doesn't mean he's important, and it really doesn't mean his wedding is important.

I would go and protest but everyone anywhere near London with an angry look on their face will be arrested that day so instead, my brother and I are having a film party-thing where there will be lots of friends watching lots of films.

I'm sure the happy couple will be distraught to learn that I'll be shitting my bones out for minimum wage during the ceremony, but I hope they have an obscenely extravagant day!

I would just like to back this quote as I am of a similar opinion, bar that I wouldn't even give half a shit. Possibly I'd pass wind, and if someone wants to claim I was giving that away, I'd be fine with it.

I'm not (and I'm English). But what I will be doing... During the last football competition that England were doing well at in 2006 or 2008 the final game England were in the whole nation was fixed. Me? I cooked up a batch of cannabis muffins tucked in and walked around my usually busy home town (Brighton). The streets being dead, me tripping the light fnatastic made it feel like I was in '28 Days Later'/first episode of The Twilight Zone or something similar walking around deserted streets. Heres hoping I can repeat the experience!
Holy shit this sounds amazing
It is. Also the lack of people means you can smoke in public without any hassle. I would recommend an mp3 player (I tend to take one everywhere anyway) but the right music can add to the experience. For the Royal Wedding I will be taking the following:

GTA IV complete soundtrack (every track from every music station not the comercially released single CD).

Vice City complete soundtrack (all 7 CD's ripped).

Fallout 3 and New Vegas soundtracks.

I am going to have me one epic day.
I can recommend Infected Mushroom - Never Ever Land or In The House In A Heartbeat (the 28days later soundtrack), unless you're riding a bike. Almost crashed into a ditch when riding home yesterday 'cause I fell "in sync" with the beat, lol.
I'll jump on youtube and check it out, it may well get added to the "wedding mix". I sympathise with being "in sync" cycling and listening to Squarepusher nearly killed me. Conversely listening to Boards of Canada means I get nowhere fast!

The what now?

I'm much too busy ignoring our own royal family putting on dog-and-pony shows from time to time to find out what I'll be not caring about in regard to all the other bluebloods in this world.

I don't smoke anything and don't intend to for personal reasons, but is there anything you would recommend that I do to take advantage of this situation?

I canceled my cable in 2010 for just this reason. I don't care that some ************ from a country i will never go to with more wealth than IQ is getting married, and the TV coverage of it only serves to grate as you start to realize nothing good will ever come on.
...well okay Breaking Bad is good, but i can just buy the DVDs.

On the other hand though, i'm glad to see that that the royal wedding is not between close relatives. The royalty has come so far since losing a war to a bunch of dumbass colonists and France. Now if only BBC would drop the royal wedding coverage and show Monty Python reruns instead, i'd be tempted to say i'm happy for the UK.

What I'm angered about is how the US news reporters are angered that Buckhingham Palace won't keep it's lights on all night just so that they can get "decent coverage". Not sure anyone really cares tbf, and there are a lot of lights in a palace, so if they got turned on, I'm gonna point at a polar bear screaming, "YOUR WEDDING KILLED THIS!!! I hope you're happy"...I'm not even a massive green thumbed energy saver either, get your own wedding America ¬_¬

I'm english, live in england, and i'm not watching it.
Couldn't really care, i don't really care when a reliative gets married why should i care when some overatted, pompus individuals who serve no real purpose get married.

I'm still going to use it as an excuse to drink though.

Great music (above reflects my own personal preference), perhaps a couple of lagers (or whatever your tipple if you drink). For me personally cannabis is rather central to the enjoyment but thats just me. For me I wanted to be completely absorbed in myself with a sense of euphoria and blisful calm. I would suggest whatever will heighten those feelings in yourself if you are planning a similar endevour. Perhaps also playing GTA or a favourite sandbox or RPG some time before if you want to make cognitive links to it (hence my choice of music).
