Only ever had the crashing during fast travel.
How did you get around that? I'm currently playing through the Big MT and my game just started doing that. It's not too bad with this DLC as it's not a big region but I'm not really tempted to go back and travel through the Mojave Wasteland without fast travel.
Yeah now you mention it big MT had a high crash rate for me too..well higher then the mojave anyway. I just gritted my teeth through it though. Only way around it is to not fast travel since Big MT isnt really the biggest region, just cluttered somewhat with loads of fighting.

When I played Vanilla I really didn't experience any crashes that I can remember. It freezed a few times.
Though as I mod it it becomes more and more unstable.

A lot, but so did every other game I own because my 360 is dying. I can't attribute a single freeze to New Vegas as they happened the same way for other games too.

An actual game crash? Once. In five full playthroughs.
Other bugs:
-A bugged quest "I Put a Spell on You" on launch. Not a problem since the first patch the game received.
-Radscorpions stuck in the ground.

That's it.

Well, without the DLC, it crashed twice. With all the DLC, it crashed an additional seven times, all of which were localised to Honest Hearts. And also localised in a single playthrough too, which seems weird to me.

So I guess I'm supremely lucky, or I don't bork up the game in the proper way to get crashes.

A lot less than Fallout 3 and Skyrim did.

I got lucky, I guess. This was on the 360 by the way.
For some reason, for me there are permanently a bunch of scattered tumbleweeds suspended in air in Goodsprings, and only Goodsprings.

Also 360.

A lot, to the point where I barely managed one playthrough before I threw up my hands in annoyance and dropped the game for a long time.

Until recently when I finally managed to play it without to many crashes (but still an annoying amount)

It only took 1 and a half years for a game to become playable...

New Vegas never really crashed for me until I got all the DLC even then my only real issue is lag (game killing lag like about 1-4 fps) I blame the dlc more than the game itself.

froze on loading screens around 1,5 hours of playing. At least it didn't corrupt my savefile what fallout 3 did in the only crash that had :/

So new vegas did freeze/crash a lot for me (x-box version)

Very rarely. I just started playing it again recently and in 20 hours of playing it (on 360) it has frozen once after a 4 hour playthrough.

In the 400 hours I played Skyrim, I experienced 5 freezes and two occurrences of sub 10 FPS mania.

At one point, I had to start a new games, then go into the menu and load my save as clicking "continue" or "load game" from the main menu caused the game to hang on the loading screen. This didn't continue past that day however.

The only other glitch I've experienced involved falling through the floor in the NCR outpost barracks. That was irritating, it had auto-saved literally right before it happened, but still, that shit shouldn't happen!

I have it for the 360 and I don't believe I've ever had the game crash on, but it would freeze up every now and then if I wasn't careful. I think it was about the same for Fallout 3 and Skyrim has only frozen up on me a few times. About the worst I've really I've gotten in Skyrim recently is the occasional, momentary frame drop and the less occasional missing parts of buildings/landscape glitch.

I had very little trouble from FO:NV. It froze or crashed on me maybe a couple times, which is about par for the course when it comes to computer games. I had much more trouble from Skyrim, Oblivion and FO 3.

I must be lucky, NV hasn't crashed once on me yet. FO3 however, was the world's least stable game ever.

Fallout 3 didn't really crash on me all that much, maybe 2-3 times max in all the time I played it. But I got New Vegas through Steam about a year after launch, and it just kept crashing, even after fully patching it. And it was never a crash-to-desktop, it was always a full-on hard reboot scenario. I just gave up on it despite the fun I was having with it. And I never even made it to Vegas, which was the whole point in me deciding to buy it.
