Obscene things do not enjoy the protection of the first amendment. That being said, I don't think I'd really even want to be the person who has to watch it and classify it as such.
But this is likely simply what they're going for. They're making something so disgusting and wrong that it simply gains attention on that alone. Doubt it'll have them turn a buck though.

Ill admit, it's thread bare plot keeps SAW from being void of all artistic art. The problem is it's so poorly executed, I just get the feeling the story was just something they tacked on after coming up with all the torture scenes. I can't tell you a single character out of all the movies I watched (had a girlfriend that liked them so I've seen them all) aside from the Orignal Jigsaw.Custard_Angel said:

Look at it this way, most people watched it out of shock and thee were literally 7 actors in the entire film. Most of which are so small names that they could pay them in corn than moneyNew York Patrick said:

I thought the first movie was pretty shitty but I didn't think an announcement of a sequal would make everyone so anal. But it looks like european theaters didn't want their eyes to get fucked again. I heard the first one captured audiences when it first came out.

Still doesn't explain most of the comments, its just a movie. If it happened in real life then people being outraged is understandable. This is fiction, whether it was some crazy person writing the story on used napkins or a big budget movie doesn't make a difference.CM156 said:

And putting people on a watch list for seeing a movie violates freedom of speech and thought. That's a far more destructive thing to society than any movie could be.

Frankly, this movie just sounds like trash. I say that not because it's gross, but because it's gross merely for the purpose of being gross. The people on board for this movie have so little creativity or skill that they merely resort to creating a two hour "2 girls 1 cup."

Well, beware the slippery slope. Free speech can't exist when there are exceptions, and I'd point out how the UK went through that whole "video nasties" thing in the 1980s.Loop Stricken said:
I don't think anyone should be forced to watch things like this, but I don't object to their existance just on principle. I've never seen the first movie, and I won't watch the second one. I enjoy "shock cinema" and horror, but the premise here doesn't capture my imagination. The whole "Human Centepede" thing seems like something you would use as a psrt of another movie for a mad scientist to be up to, or the eventual, surprise, fate of victims in such a movie with a morbid ending right before the credits roll. Stretching an idea like this into a movie all on it's own, really doesn't appeal to me, but to each their own I feel.
It's sort of like how you have groups like "August Underground" and their shock movies, I haven't bothered to track them down really, because by all accounts they are borderline incoherant and poorly made, with little to go along with them aside from the shock factor, I do no however begrudge the fans their poison of choice.
The funniest thing is, this movie will probably be allowed in Australia, and yet we still can't get an R rating for games....

...What redeeming features does this "franchise" (is use that term loosely) have? Saw at least had some moral grounding (all be it, very flimsy, poorly finsihed moral grounding). but The Human Centipede...other than it apparently made some people laugh (which in itself is scary as fuck) serves no real purpose. It doesn't even offer an escape...just vomitting and disgust...and the afore-mentioned laughter.
I see no problem with the banning, their logic is perfectly sound. But that will never happen in North America where any cencership is met with almost across the board hatred and protesting.*sigh* I have lost my respect for NA society

By god this film sounds like something my friend would love.
