A major tropical storm - strong winds and heavy rains.

... and yes, they often have very boring, uninspiring names. Which is why it would be sweet if it actually was named "Scrambles the Death Dealer" (anybody get the reference? cookie?)

I live in Wisconsin.

The Midwest is the safest place to live in the entire country; All we have to worry about are minor tornadoes and floods.

I live in Maine too. Not at all worried about it. Probably get a bit of rain. That's it.

There's a joke going on in my household that the people who jut moved in downstairs from Florida are cursed and now all hurricanes are going to hit Massachusetts and never hit Florida again as long as they live here.
The only thing I'm fairly nervous about are the winds. There's this huge ass tree in my yard that's slowly dying so strong winds + that tree = most likely 3 houses on my street destroyed.
Yay.

I live right on the impact site, North Carolina. I doubt it'll be that bad though.

I instantly got the Metalocalypse refrence, made me smile.

OT: I have never made preperations for an incoming hurricane, since it almost always just turns out to be a few days of light rain here and there.

well i live in Holland and i must say......feeling confident about surviving this storm.
That's what Obama wants you to think maaaaaan. He's got a Storm Generating Machine, and when the peoples of Europe are being all complacent and relaxed - bam! Rotterdam is in ruins. Then Aberystwyth. Then Forli (I had fun using non-capital cities there).

I kind of miss the hurricanes that used to hit South Florida. Stuff was destroyed sometimes, but you always got the nice sound of wind and heavy rain beating on your house. Love that sound. Haven't had a strong hurricane in years though and looks like we dodged another ]:< Stupid Earl.

Cape cod. Pulled all the shit from the yard inside, got some extra water and... continued unchanged. I'm not overly worried. Nothing implies it really should be too bad.
