Northern New jersey,, well inland, so there's little to worry about. Also, I live on a hill, so all that rain won't be my problem.

Hey! Don't forget about us easterners in Canada!

I'm not worried. It's been so bloody hot here in the past few days, we all pretty much want the hurricane by now.

It seems like it's not going that far inland at all. Kinda weird.
hurricanes lose their strength very quickly when not over water so really all you get inland is some rain and some flooding, it takes a real powerfully hurricane to be able to really threaten past 50 miles inland

I live about 3 hours away from the Maryland coastline, so we'll probably remain untouched for the most part.

... and yes, they often have very boring, uninspiring names. Which is why it would be sweet if it actually was named "Scrambles the Death Dealer" (anybody get the reference? cookie?)

OT: I live in Vermont, and if that image on the front page is true, I'll be fine.

Like, Mid-Eastern Massachusets
I doubt anything really bad will happen, maybe a little flooding
I hope school gets canceled.

I live inland in New Jersey, and we're supposed to get next to nothing as far as a storm goes. I think the hurricane is going further out to sea than expected.
SO DO I!!!
Yay, New Jerseyians!

I'm inland, but near the Passaic River. I expect there to be heavy flooding in my area if the rain is bad, but my house is far enough away from the river that I'll be fine. I doubt it'll be as bad as Floyd.

I livw in Nova Scotia, and i can say im a little concerned. the last hurricane to roll through tore our city (and especially parks) a new one, and Earl is going to be a hole catagory above Juan (last one).

On the bright side its looking like if it causes enough damage it might cancel school, which would be cool.

I live in Maine
Another Mainer! Although I currently live outside Boston, and we're getting hit the hardest. Up to 90 mile an hour winds on Nantucket, and where I live we'll get about 40 mph... so yeah this is going to suck.

Nova Scotia reporting in, and you're damn right I'm going to be prepared. Last time we had a hurricane it kicked our ass because we thought it was a joke.

Mind you, I'm looking forward to it, seeing as the forecast for the aftermath has us returning to non-Hell-like temperatures. So that's a plus.

I live in Ohio and those winds are gonna create another wind disaster
Ugh don't even speak of that.

Every time the wind picks up around here people are like "TORNADOOOOO!!!". They act like this shit doesn't happen every summer.

Well, you're in Ohio, so you already know that.

I live right on the impact site, North Carolina. I doubt it'll be that bad though.
So do I! And apparently it's gonna miss us(from the latest news that I heard).

A weather report was the funniest part of my day yesterday. "Financial advisers preparing for impact of EARL" "Florida residents bracing for arrival of EARL" It sounds like they're talking about a fat balding middle aged man.

I'm also from Nova Scotia and given the storms path I'm a little worried that it parallels a late 19th century storm called the Saxby Gale:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxby_Gale

Basically if it tracks into the Bay of Fundy when the tide is in we could see a lot of flooding.

I'm near Pittsburgh, PA. The worst we'll get is wind and power failures due to the company hiring nothing but idiots. So just the usual.

Hurricanes come and go and are always "apocalyptic" in people's mind but it's never as bad as everyone makes it to be.
