I just walked out of a movie for the first time today.

The only movies I legitimately wanted to leave from, where Avatar and The New World. The new world was mind-numbingly boring, and Avatar explains itself. It wasn't worth the price it cost to make by a longshot.

Never! I make it a personal point to watch the whole damn movie so I can accurately slam it to my friends.

I remember falling asleep during the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Not because it was bad as such, but because I was thirteen, hadn't read the books and had no idea what was going on. I appreciate it more now, even if it isn't fantastic.

Epic Movie on the other hand, I couldn't bear to sit through. The people who made it should be ashamed of themselves and I haven't seen one of their films since.

I very nearly walked out of Transformers 2, but instead, my kids and I started providing our own live "RiffTrax" to the film as we watched, which made it more enjoyable not only for us, but for the people sitting around us.

(Gods, but that movie was an insult to its audience, its medium, and the film industry in general!)

I sat through God damn Battlefield Earth AND AVP2 in the same day. With my friend at home, of course. But still. If I can manage that...
But... but... why? More to the point... how? I think my brain would have melted and started oozing out my ears...
When God gives you lemons, you make lemonade. I, on the other hand, squirt them in my eyes.

Which is coincidentally how it felt to watch the movies

I don't walk out I just make epic predictions to my friends at the start of the film, the betrayals in most films are laughably predictable.

I haven't walked out of a movie, but my wife walked out of Spiderman 3 when he went all emo. I've shut off several DVD's that either insulted my intellegence or were just so wrong in history I almost threw something at the TV.(Pathfinder)

It's amazing how many people have walked out of Avatar. Sure it wasn't great but there are bazillions of worse movies out there. I dunno, maybe it's cool to walk out of popular big budget films or something. Give yourselves a pat on the back, truly you are superior to folks like me who enjoyed themselves.

If we're talking Avatar as in Last Airbender then that is more understandable. I mean wow, that movie stunk. Also, do Americans use "bender" in the same sense that us Brits do, because there was a lot of unintentional humour to be found in the characters referring to each other as benders with a straight face. There was no 3D in that film either, I'm glad I didn't pay for the ticket!

The only movie I ever walked out on was some rom-com with some mexican babysitter or...something. I was so glad when my friend said that she wanted to leave, I hate walking out on a movie if none of my friends are leaving. I don't even remember the name of the film, it left such a little impression on me.

I walked out of several terrible movies myself. It's a good act of rebellion, but always remember to first boo and whistle loudly so it doesn't go unnoticed.

I walked out of War of the Worlds many years ago. It was pretty awful. I just got bored and left, besides we know what happens in the end anyway.
So you're bothered by knowing the end to a story before starting it, but it never occured to you until you were in the theatre itself that you knew the ending? Did you just suddenly remember or something?

I'm guessing you're not a big Titanic/ Apollo 13/ Downfall fan then?
Ahem, upon re-reading my post you will find that I did not walk out of the movie because of the ending, I walked out because, to quote myself like Jerry Springer:

It was pretty awful.
The fact that I knew the ending just added to the reasons I wasn't bothered about the film.

Bruno. Walked out at 20 mins in. Got a refund, and officially banned that person in my circle of friends from picking the movie EVER AGAIN.

The actual "lets shock random people on camera" jokes were almost alright, but the "plot" and the "simulated" porn were just gross. Near Human Centipede level gross.

The re-purposed exercise bike and the "creative" way to pour wine using a small Phillepeno man's anus will haunt you.

Adopted African baby joke was hilarious though. YOUTUBE that scene and nothing else.

I walked out of "Comedian", the 2002 documentary with Jerry Seinfeld in it. It was intolerable; pretty much all the jokes were cut off just before the punchline, there was extended bits of Jerry talking to other comedians in CROWDED areas with the camera literally AT ANOTHER TABLE so that you could hear next to nothing, and one of the comedian guys interviewed primarily was called "Orny" and was almost as wretched and intolerable as Dane Cook.

I've never walked out of a movie, typically see films I know will b entertaining. However, my friends have dragged me to see some horrible films such as AVP, Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman, and The Grudge. My friends immediately apologized for each one.
