The ending was ... interesting. The acting was horrible, but what do you expect when the actresses look like that. I liked the plot, and I could get into the atmosphere of it all. But the big stupid fight scenes with the terrible cg ruined it for me. All in all it felt like Michael Bay was trying to direct Shutter Island or something. I guess I think it could have been amazing, it had a lot of potential, but they just didn't get anywhere close to meeting that.

The whole fantasy world thing made it worth it, though. AND the kickass soundtrack whenever those parts kicked in.

I thought I was a kinda cool movie. The main problem I had was the main character, actually, there was something about her that made me uncomfortable(the hair, most likely). The story was pretty interesting, but the combat scenes wasn't.

I wouldn't mind seeing it again, but I won't be the one suggesting it, if you know what I mean.

Sucker Punch is nothing if not polarizing. It is basically half a cheesy exploitation flick which was the weaker of the 2 halves, plastered over a very complex, post-modern drama that basically forces the watcher to criticize himself, rather viciously, and then get, "Sucker punched" by a seriously downer ending. If your willing to get jerked around like that, its flipping amazing.

The most important thing to remember is this: When the lights go down, and Babydoll starts her dance, she is, in that world, about to be ogled mindlessly in a tasteless fashion by people who care for little more then base titillation. Then, the section of the movie starts where we in the audience are doing THE SAME THING. The idea is that you re-evaluate your values, and what you view as entertainment. The name of the movie is so accurate, its amazing. Not only the characters, but the Audience to, will get some serious sucker punches.

I enjoyed it. It was never going to light the cinematic world on fire or revolutionize the way movies are seen in pop culture, but it had good action scenes, the soundtrack was killer, and the cast was attractive. I got what I went in expecting and was happy for it.

I really loved it, guess that destroys all my credibility on these forums or something. It was far from perfect yes, but on a whole all the pieces of it that could very easily have fallen to bits manage to assemble themselves into something fascinating.

I never found there to be anything terribly pretentious about it. At it's core all it says is that we use dreams to escape from our world, nothing else. It's an insanely simple idea told in a deceptively simple way, once you stop taking anything that happens on screen literally.

The fights are nothing more then a representation, not a depiction, of her struggle, and more importantly the use of every geek image in the book is meant to convey that dreamlike quality to us because that's what we as a movie going audience see as dreamlike: fantastical over-exaggerated renditions of robots and dragons and steam-punk Nazis. The music starts playing and our protagonist turns off her mind and dances, just like we turn off our minds and watch the fireworks.

I enjoyed it a lot. Anyone who wants to see Oscar calibre acting and a heartwarming story will leave disappointed, but I went into it wanting to see attractive girls being improbably awesome amidst crazy action set pieces. I got what I wanted.

No, I thought the movie was great. People just take movies off of face value. I found that the movie put a lot of emphasis on using the imagination to escape reality, something we are all guilty of at least once in our lives, and that is what made it great. It kind of pulled off an inception thing, but didnt overplay it like inception.

Yeah its call stylizing, not every movie is meant to be seen as a "oh here the story that's it bye" type of thing. sometimes a director decides to make art and while its not always good its still an expression rather than 2 hours of shit blowing up.. oh and will smith, shit blowing up and will smith cuz why not.
