So i want to make a story (preferably Fantasy but it can still go anywhere a this point) so i decided to capitalize on the creative juices you guys have. See i need at least 4 monsters to get this story rolling, but i don't want monsters already invented, i need completely NEW monster ideas.
So guys, can you help me? These Monsters can Be Fantasy based (a reject of God's Creation) or Scientific in Nature (Dead Space Style)
So thanks Guys.
(No i'm not telling you guys why, for all you know i'm a secret government agent using you guys to create the new Bio-Weapon of the Future)

Have a look on Google images for some of the concepts people drew, trying to predict what the Cloverfield monster looked like (BTW Cloverfield monster is the most original monster evar)

From what was shown in film, and what the design sketches for it looked like, it was just Sin from Final Fantasy 10. Right down to the mini-monsters it drops.

go with something invisible, big, and powerfull
and make a special gun that needs a 10 sec cooldown, but reveals it
that should scare folks
EDIT

*gasps* is it not for a game? but for a story?
omgosh
go with a big hairy blob thing
those always work

A monster that you can only see through the corner of your eye. It's probably been done, but the concept of that scares the shit out of me.
That's cool.

Fair point, but i'll make it an attribute, not the entire monster itself

Bob Grey done it sorry.

OT: The Little Shop of Horrors should work nicely....
I am quite sorry to say that i don't know what that is.

One that appears to be a hallucination, or a mesage from god. It lets some people live, as they will spread it's mythos as preachers. All the followers are bathed in liquid that it can smell and see from miles away. That way, anything it attacks will be of the "religion" and think it is about to be made holy, and will not fight back.

Main character could be someone who accidentaly came into contact with it and escapes. The beast turns the religion against him. This results in either them being hunted or (if they were some kind of political figure) a huge war.

So it's kinda like me?

Suggestion, use a griffin or a Spyynx. Intelligent monsters make for interesting stories.

Hmmm.....this could work.......Clarification from you, will it be something like Slender Man, or something like cthulhu?

A monster that becomes a mimic of you and if you perform an action the mimic can't due to obstructions etc it attacks you. And if you don't give it anything to mimic it gets bored and attacks you.

Hoping that's original I just thought of it there

Well yes, that was my intention. There are 4 of them, so i need one to at LEAST be the leader of those bastards.

Little Shop of Horrors; a film about a man-eating plant. Although it is supposedly very cheesy...

You could just plain go with one that-ultimately-might not exist. It only appears at certain times to frighten people, but at the same time it may just be a hallucination.

The kind of monster people would not believe exists but might exist. Then again, it might not...
So one that makes you Question if it's real or not? Ok! I can go the Silent Hill route...

Right then i'll get your Mirror image concept then, and the obstructions. But instead of it getting bored i'll just make it show mental images of your loved ones being ripped apart or something so the victim HAS to move, whether in Anger or whatever else.

A creature that is itself a sentient virus that takes over and reanimated dead tissue and warps and distorts the flesh into a sort of hideous deformed monstrosity. Specifically the ability to mutate and reshape the organs, bones and muscles with complete manipulative control. It also feeds on living biomass and can consume the traits of the victims it comsumes. Leaving only empty husks in its wake the creature is unstoppable, a living testamony to the true element of the hideous and monstrous part of the psyche.

In that case, likely a dragon, a chromatic dragon. It's unoriginal but if you make it about greed it is quite fitting.

A griffin wouldnt do that, he would be logical, cold, and cunning. The Spynx would just be an annoyer in the area. Perhaps as the lesser baddies...likely not the griffin.

Actually, one villain in Grant Morrison's run on Doom patrol was a guy who always looked as if he was in the corner of your eye, even when he was right in front of you.

I agree with the core design (the consuming of the victims), but the beginning seemed too Dead Space like. I think it would be best if that one was a psychological monster.

Agreed, but i'll try to change the Dragon part though, it seems....unoriginal (of course). Anyway i would rather make the Griffin an untrustworthy lieutenant and the Griffin....a foot soldier?

Try going the House Of The Dead route and having failed experiments in bioengineering, like zombies, that are based on the cards of the Major Arcana of the Tarot.

Actually, scratch that, I'm using that idea myself. It's too awesome for anyone else to use ;). You could always try using mythical creatures like harpies and succubi and incubi...
