what starts with an "e", ends with an "e" and has one letter in it?
An envelope!

1. Mom and Dad have four daughters, and each daughter has one brother. How many people are in the family?

2. Take away the whole and some still remains. What is it?

3. A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

Harder ones this time...

Is it the person who owns the shop with the book?
or the person who publishes it?

there is a bridge, in front of the bridge there is a massive sign that says "DO NOT CROSS" in big bold letters, there are several sharp eyed, intelligent, skilled gaurds in front of said bridge. you cross the bridge and no one tries to stop you. why?
And I'm still working on your sealed room riddle but wouldn't you just die if there were no flaws or openings to allow oxygen to pass in.
you'll have time to get out
you crossed the other bridge
maybe something to do with the guards not actually being the kind of guards we think they are?

answers! if you want to cheat

since the guy at the back(guy #1) can see two others in front of him he knows if the other two have the same colour hat that he has a different one. if they have different hats he(#1) cannot answer, then the person in front of him(#2) knows that the silence from the guy(#1) behind him(#2) means he(#2) has a hat different from the guy(#3) in front of him(#2).

you look into the mirror, you look away, you look back at the mirror to see what you saw. you take the saw, you cut the table in half. two halfs make a whole. you crawl through the hole (makes more sense when you say it out loud.)

the name of the bridge is "do not cross"

envelope

Does the sign mean not to cross the sign and the guards are guarding it rather than the bridge.

Edit: That is a fucked up answer.

the riddles

1. four men are standing in a straight line, all are facing the same direction parallel to the line they stand in, they can only look straight ahead, they cannot talk to each other, two men have black top hats and the other two have white top hats, the fourth and last person in the line is separated by a massive concrete wall so no one can see him, they are being held captive until one of them can determine the colour of his hat. how do they escape.

2. youre in a COMPLETELY SEALED room, there are no openings or flaws in the wall (think 'metre thick walls of gold'. not literal). you have a table and a mirror, how do you escape? (by the way there is light)

3. there is a bridge, in front of the bridge there is a massive sign that says "DO NOT CROSS" in big bold letters, there are several sharp eyed, intelligent, skilled gaurds in front of said bridge. this is true for both sides. you (a perfectly normal human citizen) simply cross the bridge(without doing anything else) and no one tries to stop you even though you are noticed. why?

4. what starts with an "e", ends with an "e" and has one letter in it?

they get progressively easier

I'll amuse you an entire eve, but, alas,
you won't remember me. What am I?"

The answer is "A dream".
