If you could have one game remade what would it be?

I would probably say (and only if they were done well of course) American McGee's Alice (I know there is one like it coming out but American Mc Gee isn't involved so I hear :<) Monster Rancher 2, Omikron: The Nomad Soul, Earthbound - maybe?

They're bringing that out on 3DS as far as I know

Definitely would love to see it, I think it would do well on NDS but that's just me - no voice acting! I can't have another like with Final Fantasy IV (undubbed ftw)

I always belived that a game should only be remade if it was bad the first time. I would have to say without a doub't the only exception would be System Shock with improved graphics, enviorments and cyberspace.

KOTOR 2 with enough time to be made properly. Such a buggy, incomplete game.
Seconded. I think that game would have actually been better then the first if Obsidian had been given the proper time to finish the game. But to their credit, it's still damn impressive what they managed to accomplish in what little time they had.

And Harvest Moon 64 could use a remake. It's considered to be the best in the series, yet the only way for most people to play it these days is through emulation. Besides, as great as it is there are some things that could be improved on. The graphics were even considered to be shit in 1999, and it couldn't hurt to let you play as a girl. (Harvest Moon has more female fans then most other franchises)

EDIT: Oh, only ONE game? Make it HM64, then.

It's a straight up sad day when I go into a thread like this and I only see ONE vote for Vagrant Story for PS1. That game is still amazing and I would have to succumb to buying a damned PS3 if they ever did make a proper sequel.

I'd have a remake of the 2D 'Worms 2'. I know they're redoing the last of the 2d versions and releasing under Steam, but I prefered the earlier variant (and the 3D versions never made sense to me).

And for less that £16-!

I reckon 2D gameplay, with 3D rendering, and a fuckload more content.
That's all that needs to be done to it xD

I would have Blood Omen 1 remade cause that was a great game which was better then any sequel that you could play as kain
I'm almost agreeing with you, its one of the best games (and series) I have ever played. But I think my vote might go to Hexen: Beyond Heretic. I had so many hours of fun playing coop on that game...but then again its not for certain that the remake would give me the same feelings, so I am unsure. Sometimes it is best to let past be past.

Toss-up between Aliens vs Predator, Grim Fandango, Deus Ex, System Shock 2 and Alpha Centauri. None available for purchase, none run right on current OSes AFAIK.
You obviously havent heard of Alien vs Predator 2000. Get it on steam for a few bucks/euros. It makes the original (and actually good) avp run on modern systems. Its a blast :D
