Toss-up between Aliens vs Predator, Grim Fandango, Deus Ex, System Shock 2 and Alpha Centauri. None available for purchase, none run right on current OSes AFAIK.

Battlefield 2, staying true to the origional gameplay and not simply trying to make and EA version of COD a la 1943. Groan.

I'd agree with what some people have said and go with morrowind, if it didn't get fucked over. And also dungeon keeper, the sequel was shit, and they quit production of the 3rd one for some obscure and mundane reason >.> Although there is that random MMO some japanese company is making :S

Just find a used copy. A lot of the strength of that game is in the writing and storytelling, which would be difficult to show in a modern game.
I already said I've looked and couldn't find anything, and I hate ordering off the internet - especially used.
Good luck then. The only copy I've ever seen is the one I own now.

Splatterhouse.

a straight remake made for XBLA with better looking sprites and smoother gameplay, and make sure its a remake of the TurboGrafx-16/PC engine version, but switch his 2x4 with a cleaver like he's supposed to have.

the original metal gear games (not metal gear solid for the PS1 for all of you too young to remember the old games) although with less of a Rambo visual identity
definatly although mgs1 would be good too but if we could kill big boss with a makeshift flamethrower in ps3 graphics... my life would be complete

FF9, I just think it could be better with current graphics, but hang on a second here if we like these games so much why would we want to destroy them by diging up their corpses and making them dance for us in the modern world? Sorry if I sound like an ass but still think about it give one good remake and come back to me ok?

No! Bad Nutcase! Bad! No!

Why do you want to remake Grim Fandango? What can you add to the game or tweak? I'll seriously entertain debate on this, but in my opinion I can't see anything I'd change/add. You can actually buy Grim Fandango off Amazon and eBay still... and there's an installer/launcher which means that you can run it in at least Windows XP (I know from experience.) Such an awesome game. I guess just re-releasing it might get it more exposure to a new audience, which I'm all for...

Fallout 2. Only this and nothing more.
EDIT: And by that I mean by someone more talented than Bethesda!

Either Shining Force or Vandal Hearts. 2 classic but completely forgotten games.
Vandal Hearts was supposed to be remade on DS, though I don't know what happened with that. As for Shining Force, I thought it was remade on GBA.

OT: Is Shiny Entertainment still up and running? I'd like an Earthworm Jim remake. I know there was one in the works for PSP, but I don't think that pulled through.

I don't have an XP machine, and don't really feel like importing a copy unless I know it's going to work.

Besides, it's a 3D game, right? That means the graphics age.

If you're running Linux or something - you should be able to run it under WINE or something, I think that's the program, or run a virtual machine or something, I only used Linux briefly...

It's kinda 3D, but I'm not sure exactly how the backdrops are rendered. I think the models & stuff have aged a little, but the way the backdrops are rendered I think they're pretty much timeless, but some of the 3d character models do suffer from pixellation or something if I remember right. Cranking up FSAA on a modern card will help that a bit, but I think it's more the textures or something.

Still, it's an adventure game, and although I love the visuals - both the graphics and the visual style - it's not what I'd say I play it for...
