Well here's my group of assholes, in com and media class... -snip-
Well, take solace in the fact that
everyone's ComTech class is like that. About 95% of the people in those courses take it as a throwaway course.
Next up are the two out of our 4 actors, -snip-
That's the reality anyone faces when using non-professional actors. Remember: at this level, these people are either throwing their own grades away (talk to the teacher, but be reasonable, for this sort of thing) or they're actually doing you a favour by agreeing to act in your project. Either way, a true director will grit his/her teeth and be courteous and gracious, and most importantly, thankful for their actors.
Or you could hire some pro actors, but I'm gonna guess you don't have the qualifications to distribute Actra points yet.
The other guy and I cannot get anything done because -snip-
And that is your challenge: to succeed when it seems like there's no hope. You prove yourself as a filmmaker ([sub]or [/sub]) when you can persevere through an onslaught of delays, problematic co-workers, and Murphy's shin-kicker of a law. It's not ideal, but you'll come out a stronger leader. Just think: if you can successfully direct this rabble of idiots, imagine what you'll be able to do with a worthwhile crew?
