They are aware that this would effectively and decisively shut down the entire Internet, right? I mean if this passes the only ones that could have websites without fear would be big businesses and no one would want to go on the Internet for fear of the Internet Gestapo.

* Customs officers will be given authority to search for copyright infringing materials from passengers mp3-players, cellphones and laptops
Why do I feel like this will cause a lot of inconvenient misunderstandings for people with songs with names like, "06__alarm_vbr" "bitmuch mp3" or "(8bit)_7(NORMALIZED)"?

All of those I got from artists who publish under the creative commons license, and they never quite remembered to give them titles that didn't look so sketch...

As far as the internet goes? There is VPN networks. I've read the ToS of a very "well known" one which doesn't save any information and only releases your name if you might have to serve a minimum of 2 years in jail. And trust me when I say, if in all stupidity this goes through some sweaty internet nerd will have it cracked in a day

Internet terrorists or not, 4chan's anonymous may very well be our only hope against this blatant infringement of democracy and whatnot. So I say now, "Please anonymous, you have just as much to lose as we do! Please help us stop this madness."

It just might work? Man, it must work! It's our only shot!
And after being told they're not your personal army, and possibly having it backfire on you and having them come after your PC instead, what was your next move? Asking modern day 4chan for help is pointless, they're all "newfags", meaning unhelpful, rowdy and generally stupid kids. This requires the expertise of one of the original Anon, they're like the Old Ones of the internet. We need to start tracking them down. Now.
I concur that most modern 4chan users are newfags, a strong anon group is still around, just a few months ago I read an article about how the the tes bagger movment used their slogan and anon internetedly *****-slapped them. I'm not saying that the current group is the AS strong as the "Old Ones." but at least we have a first line of defence until we can dig up the anons of tru power.

Also i really love the idea of Anon shredding this situation up with Hacker bullets, I mean a bill trying to supress the freedoms of internet being torn apart bya hive-mind of the internet, a collection of individuals banding together to teart town a threat that poses to take away the freedom they're using to tear down the threat...
It's sort of poetic, you know?

Well, a couple of things spring immediatly to mind:

1)That site doesn't seem that credible to me.

2)If something like this did happen, there would be so much of a public shit storm that it would have to be reversed.

3)I'm from England, so this wouldn't really affect me.
We're in the EU. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_State_of_the_European_Union

This can't happen. We don't need this shit happening as well. If this actually does pass then the internet will no longer be the internet and we'll be forced to shovel government allowed shit. Whatever happened to human rights? When did that idea jump out the fucking window?

Fucking shit storm will kick off.

Right, fuck this, lets begin taking back our lands for the people, had enough of a bunch of wankers sat in an office somewhere dictating what we can and cannot do without consulting us first about what we, THE PEOPLE want. Burn it all to death, start over.

If anyone here is from Canada and withing distance of ottawa the "Canadian Pirate Party" (yes that's a real political party is planning a protest on some pre- acta legislation coming out that will make us acta ready right now we're much more free speech and sharing then the us so we don't even have the basic mechanics in place to be able to accept it much less enforce it.

anyone who thinks I'm shitting you look at this: http://www.pirateparty.ca/forum/index.php?action=calendar see the 28th ottawa c-32 rally. I intend to go. Maybe even with an anon mask. :p
