In Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion what do you think your character was in prison for at the beginning?

It's because I was Dark (Elf), also because of slavery, necromancy, dark artifacts, torture and murder of couple of Khajit on the street with poisoned sword and fire magic because they spoke to me without being ordered. Then my character killed several mortal guards who tried to immprison him and when few mages finaly managed to put him in the cell he gasped and said "I shouldn't have left the Morrowind"

Well, you only discover places that you've been to before, so your character must have already been all over Cyrodiil, but no one knows anything about you, you have no reputation and you have no posessions and no house. I think there's a secret group of thieves/assassins which Hides-his-heart is part of. This group seems a lot more deadly than the dark brotherhood or the Mythic Dawn because they do a similar job but remain much more secretive. This group is probably also quite big but spread out. Hides-his-heart took his time to find Francois Motierre so he probably had to travel a long distance over Cyrodiil, which would explain why your character has been all over Cyrodiil, you have to do jobs all around. When you meet Hides-his-heart, he doesn't know who you are, which is why I say that this group must be fairly big. They might even be spread over all of Tamriel.

When the emperor talks to you, your character acts like you've done something actually wrong because you have the option to question the emperor's optimism about you a few times. Therefore it can't have been a petty crime. I think that your character took what Valen Dreth said too seriously and actually thought that you might die in prison but to believe him you'd have to have done something more than a petty crime.

When the emperor talks to you you get to act all surprised that he's chosen to redeem you without even knowing what you did. As he doesn't know what you did, you were perhaps only found doing a petty crime involved with being in Hides-his-heart's group, but in reality you did much more. If the emperor knew you were a serious criminal, he wouldn't have been as nice to you. You also weren't found as a serious criminial because the emperor would know who you are.

Therefore, you were a serious criminal in Hides-his-heart's gang but you weren't found guilty of it and you stopped being part of the gang because you realised that what you were doing was horribly wrong.

I was trying to leave Cyrodil and travel the world, but apparently killing a captain, holding his crew hostage and stealing his boat, while firing the cannons at the city isn't the right way to do it.

But yeah, I was the race that was black (don't remember what they were called). And seeing how I ended up being a huge thief, so I was guessing there was a connection to that.

Redgaurd I believe, I am a Redgaurd and they are meant to have darker skin but due to the fect I was trying to make mine look like me (I'm white) mines kinda pale. Redgaurd ftw
Something I found funny was I was reading up on the races, and Redgaurd is the only race that is a human race that is not actually decended from the same people, so in a way they aren't humans they just evolved that way.... So they're saying black people aren't human

Especially the Prison and that Big Tower at the beginning of the game. It took me a while but I got the doors open on both (usually I don't take anything either although I couldn't help myself inside the armory).

Being part of the Mythic Dawn? I dunno. We could've been one of the cultists who slaughtered the man's children. Hell, we might;ve been a sleeper agent.... who failed miserably. But still.

I got the game (GOTYE) for Christmas and I'm barely into the storyline so sorry if it tells you later, but as far as I know the game never tells you why you were in jail at the beginning. There is no right or wrong answer, just based on you/your characters personality or whatever why do you think you were in prison?

Have a lot of fun with this. Seriously, explore as much as you can; the world is a lot richer than most first realise. I found a castle ruin the other day, and there were a bunch of invisible animals there, I explored the castle, and found a guys diary that explained it all. None of it was quest related. That was just there, waiting to be discovered. It's amazing. All across Cyrodiil. Have fun, good sir.

Either that, or she had sex with the King's wife or something. And, for the record, the Queen totally enjoyed it

I had sex with the kings wife and daughter then killed the king and all the guards with one swipe of my gutiar played an awsome solo and became god. *cause the game will be glitchy and exploited for invincibility like oblivion*

I can't believe there's so many people that didn't know that Tamriel is ruled by an emperor, you know, the second character you meet at the start of the game?

My character, Therin Laythre, had just recently arrived from Morrowind, after deciding to put his old life behind him and start anew. About a week after crossing the border, he got in a drunken quarrel with Maro Rufus at The Merchants Inn. He was aggressive towards the guards and didn't have any money for the relatively small fine, which was the reason why he was hastily put in the cell that's not supposed to be used for prisoners. And then, ADVENTURE!

Perhaps I take my roleplaying a little too seriously, there's truckloads more backstory for him.

I like to think I was wrongfully in prison, that I was blamed for the crime of another. Maybe someone murdered a loved one, that's why I agreed to help Martin and then went off the deepend when he died too, becoming an assassin, then when Lucien LeChance died I went on a mass killing spree and ended up in the realm of the mad.

How do you do that hidden tab thing to prevent me giving spoilers in the future? I know the game is years old but just to be polite in future =/
